Autechre I want to go on a journey

So I know I made a thread asking for all sorts of Autechre related music a while ago, and I got such good feedback I figured I would narrow it down a little because I'm really interested in some of the ambient/minimalist albums. Specifically I really enjoy getting super super stoned and waiting till I'm really tired, and then tossing the album on while falling asleep.

From the recs I got, I'm really into:

Biosphere - Substrata

SND - Microstoria

Loscil - First Narrows

Gas - Pop

Kettel - Volleyed Iron

So basically I want to hear some albums that have very distinct strange flavours/ideas about them, so something semi-coherent throughout is best for the journey aspect of the listen. Even something with a little beat to it like Phonecia - Brownout would not hurt but I'm thinking more minimal. Also I like the dark ambient stuff, trying to expand my ambience collection. Any recs would be awesome.

Also I'm currently very very stoned and tired writing this so I might sound bat-shit crazy

the Gas stuff is heavily influenced by Zoviet France & Rapoon. You might enjoy some of their stuff , i find it a lot more interesting an alien than it's imitators.

what kind of ambient do you want?

I'm assuming you have adventures beyond the ultraworld and orbus terrarum. if not get those.

as far as minimalism goes, you'd be a fool not to have music for 18 musicians or music for airports.

not sure if this is quite the style you want, but nonetheless it's fantastic music.

Hopefully it will be a cool journey you end up on.

Terry Riley - Lifespan

This is not new music; Terry Riley is one of the pioneers of minimalist music, though his brand is different from that of Philip Glass/Steve Reich. I've listened to this album so many times in the exact situation you're describing, and it never gets old.

i've been listening to Biosphere - Substrata and Gas - Nah Und Fern a bunch lately. I think I was in a similar musical zone (but sober). I was also digging Stars of the Lid - Music for N20. Kevin Drumm - Imperial Distortion. Aloof Proof - Piano Text. Labradford - Fixed Content. also breaking out the Birchville Cat Motel after setting it aside for some months.

If you liked SND you're gonna love Frank Bretschneider. Start with his album Rhythm and then listen to anything after that.
