Warp20 (New York), the second of our birthday spectaculars, will take place between Thursday 3rd and Sunday 6th September, with paid and free events taking place in a variety of venues across the city.

Following on from Paris' Cite de la musique in May, Warp once again combines music performance and film as New York City becomes home to events that include two live concerts and a series of film screenings at venues all over Manhattan.

On Friday, September 4, Terminal 5 will present Battles (only North American show of 2009, first preview of brand new material), !!! (in their only NYC show of the year), Prefuse73 and Pivot. Then, on Saturday, September 5, The World Financial Center Winter Garden will host a free live event with performances by Clark, Hudson Mohawke and more special Warp guests as well as Warp DJs.

Throughout the weekend, The New Museum will host a series of screenings from Warp Films’ award-winning feature length, documentary and short films, as well as classic Warp artist music videos from the past 20 years.

Tomorrow night the Warp20 (New York) Kickoff Party takes place, presented by Wordless Music Series and Le Poisson Rouge, featuring the 20+ musicians of Alarm Will Sound performing pieces by Aphex Twin and Autechre, as well as a DJ set by Nic Offer from !!!

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

 It looks like Prefuse 73 has backed out of this one. But Flying Lotus will be taking his place. Now I'm all about some Flying Lotus, but I was really looking forward to seeing P73. Plus I've already seen FlyLo. He puts on a excellent show though so I can't complain!

I'm crossing my fingers for RDJ popping out of no where and begin playing the most amazing set he's ever played in his life. Then I'm hoping that he'll begin throwing copies of Konklaver out into the crowd, like magix pixie dust and rabid IDM fans and hipsters (there to see !!!) begin tearing each others heads off for the original copies.

Of course I will be victorious and will upload the album for you guys, don't worry.

flylo had a mind wrenchingly nasty set oh my godddddddddd. all the remixes he threw down?! and the tunes he played were sick!

i donnoo what the hell !!! was doing there, they didn't fit in imo but battles blew me away. judging by the new material they played we're in for something hugely sweet.

epic epic night.
