had no idea they copied it so verbatim; i do like the kraftwerk-turned-windows 3.1 spin by bringing in more musicians though. the track he starts playing at 6:30 though is actually pretty catchy.

a lot of my listening efforts went into mtv buzz bin videos in the mid to late nineties; along with aphex twin (which i first experienced watching 12 angry viewers on halloween in '97) and the daft punk and chemical brothers on subterranean, i liked limp bizkit, korn, 311, semisonic, fastball, marcy playground, third eye blind and all sorts of shitty music. literally, i tried to replicate mtv and alt rock radio playlists. i grew out of this in eighth grade though; i just ceremonially gave away all my limp bizkit, korn, etc.

...but kept the aphex

eh, sold half my aphex twin over the past few years too. his and squarepusher's music sound more and more self-indulgent every time i listen to them.

Trap Castle

It was like a board game that was just a picture that you would show to people, and they'd have to navigate their way through the Castle without being killed by one of the traps. You had certain items to help you on your way (like magnets and C4), limited ammo and limited uses of rope before they snapped.

And rollercoasters. Lots of rollercoasters. Made just out of coloured tubes. My theme park was always called Austin Towers

When I was about 10 I drew an incredible picture of a Capercaillie (from a stuffed one we had in school). From then on I wasn't able to draw shit, inexplicably.

small scale shoot outs on large 2d landscapes. think soldat or worms.

i used to do this quite a lot. i called it 'men at war' and each landscape covered an a4 page, with tiny stick figure dudes shooting each other with guns. and lots of different environmental hazards too.

i drew sonic the hedgehog as well

then i drew cyberdemons and monsters from doom and hexen and quake and duke nukem and turok etc.

lots of gorey videogame stuff

yeah i tried to draw doom monsters and such, until i discovered i was terrible at drawing. however i did draw up plans for a lot of doom levels (on grid paper too haha!). oh and these weird squiggly mazes that didn't really have a start or end but the point was that i'd try to draw the entire thing without taking my pen off the paper.

Then all shit like this when i was 14-16. I discovered if you do stuff massive, then even if it's shit, the size impresses people. That's my foot.

went through a bizarre phase of drawing super obese kind of melty garfield cats

This, though mine always tended to be sitting on a mountain of skulls or wielding an ax and fighting a deranged bunny with a chainsaw.

This.

I also drew lots of vines, muscley men, weird blobs made of faces with ropes and hands sticking out of the sides, and Aliens (like from the movie). Lots of comics too.

remembered a weird one..

NFL Pro Set cards from 1990, they had an illustrated super bowl mvp series in that set. i cherished them, loved looking at them. i drew the marcus allen, joe montana's, jerry rice, and bart starr ones over and over, like i was practicing for something.

www.petergaber.com is where I keep my paintings. I used to have a kinky tumblr, but it exploded.

when i was a kid drew a shitload of pictures where the predator maimed and decpitated people. i still think the predator is the coolest alien badass.
