Actually, the way it works over here at least, a lot of the time men don't even have any face-to-face contact with the agency and as far as I know there's no real vetting of customers. You're supposed to use your own common sense, make sure someone knows where you are and when to expect you back, etc. What it does mean is that noone is beating you or taking a share of your profits (bar a small commission for the agency - generally £50 or so in every £200 you make, those are very rough figures and only apply to one agency I've read about).

That's sort of my point. It's a cliché to point out that it's the world's oldest profession, but now society is starting to catch up to our own fucking biological impulses, and more's the better I say.

ACtually from what i understand, porn doesn't pay that well unless you're doing really fucked up shit. And since a lot of it is on the internet there has been a reported 50% drop of revenue loss in the industry over the last year. Read it in the trades.
