The best thing to come outta this thread is evidence that there should be a new thread were people can stress their hatred for Quebec.

become a tranny street walker. or get a job lip-synching in french in annoying commercials for a scam website.

One of the shittiest things about Quebec are those dubbed TV shows and infomercials. I am ashamed of french television on so many levels... Everything should be subtitled like in Europe, at least.

Yo, if you're a broke-assed-anglo in montreal look up Nordia. It's a call centre that pays not too badly and just about every anglophone who ever lived in Montreal has worked there, myself included. That or you could do what I did and bail on that frigid lilllypad of a town.

Or get a job in Westmount/NDG, that usually does the trick. Or turn tricks in Westmount/NDG, that usually does the job.

when I was homeless living on the streets in st louis last year for a couple of months, I was approached nearly every day, sometimes more than once, but well to do looking men. Despite being broke or whatever, and having somewhat of a drug habit, I could never bring myself to do it. Not for any moral reasons, heavens no, but because the thought of being sexually involved with some scuzzy old man is absolutely appalling. I remember one guy approached me on the bus, and offered me $150 cash if he could give ME a blow job. The only condition was that I had to cum. There's no way I would have been able to stay hard, let alone cum, or else I might have done it lol... I would do "straight" porn anyday though. Not because I like sex that much, but I imagine getting paid to fuck some strange is a pretty cool thing. I wouldn't count on porn being my career, as it seems to not be a kind of job that offers a 401k and shit... It wouold make a great 2nd job though if you weren't too old though.

You should forgo the actual sex and go with phone sex. A bird I know makes up to a dollar a minute doing it (a lot more than I get doing manual labor at that!)

Once you establish yourself as a phone sex operator you can start building your client base and start working only on regulars, work out a schedule with them, etc. I suppose further down the line you could enter the escort business if you really wanted to, but trust me this way you'll be making money with less risk of AIDS or splooge in the eye

truth be told, anyone working is a commodity, but the difference here is he could go get a job digging ditches or whatever, work hard, set aside some money, and make a plan for himself to move forward and better his life (and I don't just mean financially - that just gives you more options to do what you truly want in life) - the whole point of why we're here.

And what exactly is the difference, JR? An escort can't set aside money, make plans?

You're spot on, anyone working is a commodity. You're providing a service. There is no soul to lose. You lose nothing tangible when you choose this line of work, other than the respect of people who don't approve - and it's none of their business anyway. If you lose your own self-respect, then you're in the wrong line of work, do something else. I don't have any self-respect anyway, but if I did I think it'd be more damaged by working long hours for peanuts for some illegal employer. That's real exploitation. If you're truly comfortable doing it, what is the problem? And please don't pretend that noone can be happy in this line of work, that's patently not true - did you read the second article I linked?

Again, if anyone in the UK wants to try this line of work I can send you a link to an information pack and application form!

I didn't mention losing a soul (something that I personally don't believe in); I mentioned losing your dignity as a human being. Dignity comes from within, and is not beholden to anyone but yourself - so your argument of it only affecting those who don't approve is again, a smokescreen to cover up the fact you do find yourself feeling empty doing this line of work.

I also never said to work illegally for an employer who underpays you - there are decent employers out there, and just because you take a job that you might not be happy at or want to do, it does by no means equate staying there forever and never moving on - that's just as bad as whoring yourself out for money.

RE: article - don't believe everything you read, see, or hear. Trust in yourself what you think is right and is the truth.

And you should have more self-respect for yourself - your a capable human being, just like the rest of us - the only thing holding you back is yourself.

Thanks Dad for your sound advice and arbitrary distinctions between dignity and morality. You certainly implied that Salads was on the right track with his "losing your soul" nonsense. There is no smokescreen here at all, I directly said in my post " If you lose your own self-respect, then you're in the wrong line of work, do something else". You seem unable to accept that people can be escorts without losing their sense of dignity and self-respect. I think you're wrong. It's a matter of opinion and not experience as neither of us have done it - once I start selling myself I'll get back to you. But I highly doubt that every single escort who has ever gone on record as saying "it didn't damage my self-respect" or dignity or whatever else is lying to themselves and to us. That's just your own morality and ideas about dignity being projected onto others - they aren't universal constants for everybody.

And RE my own self respect - I was joking, I've got plenty. It's everybody else I don't respect.

I was referring specifically to OP's situation... as someone said, he's an illegal. I don't know what the job situation in Quebec is like but I would wager that very, very few if any employers of illegals treat them decently and pay them fairly.

LOL @ "dad" - apologies if I come off as sounding too fatherly at times!

You're right though - everyone's idea of what is right and wrong, and their level of self-respect and dignity is their own. I agreed with Salad's concept, not the exact wording. Sorry if that came across as such.

I'd consider escort work if I looked a bit less like Bernard Manning.

Being a male prostitute that services women is probably not much different than being a male nurse. Except you have to fuck them. That would be hard for a guy. You have to perform sexually even with women you find physically repulsive.
