Released in May, apparently. I'll still buy it even though it has the possibility of being a little one-dimensional.

So many interesting games coming out this year...

We've already had Mass Effect 2 but then there's Alan Wake, Fable III, Dead Rising 2, Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, and Heavy Rain.

I don't rally care anymore... the hype that has built up this game for the last 4 years has totally killed it for me.

I find it funny that they used this game to market DirectX10 when it was surfacing a year or so back... saying "YOU NEED BUY DX10 COMPATIBLE CARD OR YOU NO GET ALAN WAKE LOL"

All these "cinematic" games seem to aim for a cheesy wannabe hollywood thrillride. Played Heavy Rain demo last night and I'm wondering if I'll be able to stomach those dialogues. That's what I hated about Uncharted 2, most of it was like a third grade action movie.

Maybe I'm too pessimistic. I'm still a big Max Payne 1/2 fan. But the latest trailers/movies of Alan Wake are hardly convincing. Seems much more action based than the "psychological thriller" and the slow pace they showed us before.

I don't like it. Its trying too hard to look and be cool and dramatic and all. If it was a movie I'd diss it on the spot since it's cliché-ish all the way. Yeah, it has new ideas and it might be fun but I already hate the main and all other characters and didn't even start to play...

they spent 5 years on this game, I really think passing this off just based on the premise would not be wise... reviews should give us a better idea on the quality of the game... you can't sell tension and atmosphere in a trailer

They spent a lot of time and money on avatar too and it sucked my dick.

As I said, the game might have a great atmosphere, it might be fun to play and revolutionary on some gaming points but the general feeling I got from watching the trailer was it looks like a second grade tv drama.

and Im sure the developers would agree with you... ever seen the show twin peaks..?

not to say twin peaks is second grade, but stylistically its going for that kind of "feeling"

i have a feeling it will be pretty and atmospheric, but in the end a rather short "on rails" kind of game. more of an interactive movie kind of game.
