Alan Wake (PC & 360)

Really pleased it's getting great reviews.

Pre-ordering again.

fuck me that game has become so goddamn overrated. why would they compare alan wake to heavy rain anyway? also, while heavy rain was somewhat entertaining and graphically impressive, i didn't feel for any of the characters at all, and i thought the whole plot/twists was very cliché and b-movie like. and the voice actors, i mean what the fuck?

ok i'll stop hating now, it's a great game really, just not that great.

It's not a long game. If you like, play through on Nightmare to get a few more details and to get a better sense of the combat.

pretty cool and very twin peaks'y live action prequel shorts for alan wake, i haven't seen twin peaks in like 5-6 years, but to me it almost seems as if they're trying to make a twin peaks game, only with different characters, locations etc.

Aw, I can't pre-order because my debit card has expired and I have such atrocious credit that they won't send me a new one.

Guess I'll have to wait until I get paid (at least 3 weeks from now).

I just found out that the whole game is pretty much sponsored by Energizer batteries... and that during one of the most intense scenes there are adverts for Ford and Verizon.

I fail to see the Twin Peaks association

really? the intro music, an outsider coming to a small north american community, a bunch of weird surreal things going on, even a diner scene with a bunch of odd characters, how are you not seeing it? like i said, i haven't seen twin peaks, but from what i remember of it, it's pretty clear that they've been inspired by it.
