'language barrier' by lusine is a favorite ambient listen for me.

it's out on Hymen.

It's probably just the colors but at first glance that always reminds me of this. Anyway I'll check that one out. Serial Hodgepodge is the one I have.

i feel like a dick saying this, but it's almost like he's the ideal future music/computer arts (and their ilk) magazine reader who ardently reads every article in there and gets all the gear and stuff and just does this sort of vanilla music really well.

this is exactly how i feel. and i feel like a dick for agreeing. his music feels like alot of empty gestures.

I was anti ISO50 for a while. But that was pretty much jealousy. Looking at his stuff is very inspiring to me these days. It's more than just 70s-esque design. He's a master of color and texture. Taking inspiration and outright stealing ideas is part of being an artist. He puts his inspirations front and center on his blog, so calling him a rip-off is kind of pointless.

As for his music... the beautiful artwork has convinced me to buy this 12". I want a print of that image. I'm a fan of nice melodies though, which he does quite well. So it should work out just fine.

agreed.

if a semi-intelligent person who knew anything about design were to read his blog, they would realize he is far beyond an unoriginal copycat and has some of the most beneficial and relative design knowledge than many could ever wish to have. honestly, if you can't respect his work enough to say it is well-done, then you're just a hater.

as far as his music goes, it's getting better.

here are some photos from last night

he only played for an hour and it was all old material, but still enjoyable. he played two songs i haven't heard before that were extremely similar to stuff he's already done. the visuals were amazing and really professional. i took a few videos as well if anyone wants me to upload them to youtube. the DJ before him was average at best. he played a lot of lone and also this

which made me do a major WTF as probably nobody knew where it was from. also one thing i've never seen before at a club was the amount of physically disabled people there, like people in wheelchairs and crutches and stuff. overall it was a fun night Edited by chax

so yeah. this is pretty great. i'm surprised i can listen to it from start to finish and not get sick of the same song. the remixes are quite varied, they really mix up the pace of the album. although i have to say the generally washed out sound of the entire ep does start to wear by the end. still definitely glad i bought this! i reckon this would be great to fuck to. lol.

meh. sounds like a jamband song honestly. sector nine and disco biscuits were churning this stuff out in '99. its not horrible but it sounds pretty generic and nothing i need to come back to.

I find it hilarious that this new track now incorporates guitars.

I used to defend tycho against the boc ripoff attacks but this is now just shameless, ha.

does sound nice tho.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

hes not even close to BOC in this track, wtf is everyone smoking?

this is closer to like Sasha or some shit rather than BOC.

he just did a cover for a casino vs. japan reissue and he just picked up a piece of his art, fonts included?

don't get me wrong, its lovely. but come on. you cant get any lazier.

lol.
