they're all by jody kendrick as has been repeatedly pointed out to stepheng. he just wants it to be by afx for some reason and won't be told otherwise. you could get jody in here to testify it was him and he'd still believe it was afx...

just listened to steel erector and plus 10 and they don't sound even remotely similar to most of the tracks on the EDM comps. The closest sounding was quas 3.

what you on about? they don't sound exactly the same no but they certainly have that current braindance aesthetic. the EDM stuff is done on a computer for the most part and the tracks you seem to like most make rather heavy use of the dblue glitch vst plugin. you wanna hear more stuff like that - get the plugin and run any track through it. the steel erector album is largely made with hardware hence the different feel - it's a much more solid album imo. open your mind mate, it's not all about tape-stop and bitcrusher effects all over everything.

Have you tried listening his stuff chronologically? From his early stuff before Rephlex, to +10 to Steel Erector, his Jidomatix youtube trx, Black Narcissus X record and then the EDM stuff. Should give you more of a perspective on things, it did for me anyway.

 

In any case check out his Black Narcissus X LP if you haven't already, that one is totally wicked.

 

And let's just wait for the next 24 EDM releases before jumping to any conclusions already

Ok, thread officially derailed.

 

The Jidomatix Youtube page isn't up anymore, but (for example) the PHOX track sounded pretty similar to Men Pt 2.

 

The melody in the breakdown section of both tracks even sounds similar. I spliced them together below. Keep in mind the PHOX clip is taken from Youtube so it's not the highest quality.
