my fiance left me

i was diagnosed 2 months ago back in berlin, my symptoms were getting really bad i was completely manic one day of the week and then suicidal the rest. my fiance took care of me but it was a lot of pressure for him.

my fiance and my mom decided it would be best if i got treatment in california for 3 months where my family is and where there is more support. i flew in to california and my fiance flew in a week later.

one day after he was here he says that he cannot be in a relationship anymore and that he doesn't love me anymore. i tried to kill myself. i slit my wrist. they took me to a mental hospital and i just got out yesterday.

i feel a little more stable now, less rage than before. the lithium, gabapentin, klonopin and ativan really help.

i don't think i can go back to berlin now because i don't have the financial means to start over again in europe and on my own. i am trying to get figure out exactly what to do, but i feel so confused and overwhelmed. i want to focus on making work so that i can keep selling and try to support myself. i was thinking i could move to LA because i like living in big cities but it is not too far away from my family.

I'm really sorry to hear this, you need to stay with your family right now, where you have support and essentially can be looked after, as child like as that may sound thats what you need right now. all i can say is take it easy for a few weeks, exercise, do something to keep yourself creative and positive. eat healthy, listen to uplifting music, read the bible, quran, or anything else that you dig on spiritual message wise.\

dont hate your fiance, its an immense thing to deal with bipolar disorders, on both sides of the spectrum.

i can't imagine being in that situation, but just remember to never stop taking your medication. also you now have an advantage in the creative realm that believe it or not might actually be extremely beneficial to you. in fact being diagnosed as bipolar might actually be an advantage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creativity_and_mental_illness

i am an artist so i guess it is an advantage
