Autechre It's about time we have an Ae wiki

People, this is overdue... Ae has little information available on their official websites, and their current Wikipedia page is very limited. With our collective information about Ae we can make a massive, organized resource about Autechre that will serve for GENERATIONS!

Now, we all know this is way, way to big of a task for just one person. So, I ask the community for help.

There are a lot of steps involved in making this happen, and we'll all have to contribute what we can...

FIRST OF ALL,

after doing some research I figured that a "MediaWiki" package hosted on a server will probably suit our needs best, (some more info on mediawikis here http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_does_MediaWiki_work%3F). I do run my own website (www.changeless.ca) that is hosted on my good friend's Apache server, I could ask him if he has the bandwidth and space to facilitate something of this nature. IDEALLY we would like to have a dedicated server for the Ae wiki, if anyone has any ideas on this front please post them. As well, I'm sure I can find out how to set up a wiki on my own, but if anyone who already knows how to wants to volunteer, please do (or at least help me set it up).

We will need to buy a domain name, Aepages.com or .org will probably do fine. I think the average price is about twenty dollars per year, not a big deal.

We will need some one to maintain the site after it is up. I would volunteer, but there is probably some one much more qualified for that job here at WATMM.

There are many other steps, but we can elaborate on these later.

When? Starting in January, at long last - finally I'm freeing up enough time to devote to getting the proper site up and and running. Expect an announcement before the year's end regarding how it will all work.

Is this actually happening at last or are you leading us on again Rex?

My inside sources say that there is some sort of upgrade happening in January so I think he's serious.
