Creators of 'Lost' say they won't tie up all those loose ends

Many of the questions posed during the run of "Lost" that have been keeping you up at night are never going to be answered on the show but will instead be tossed on the compost heap like an old turnip, because, the writers say, they have run out of time.

if that is true, they could have possibly ruined what could have been the most epic TV programme of all time. BTW, enjoyed that last episode for some reason. they should've called it:forgiveness/redemption/confession :trashbear:

Guest Benedict Cumberbatch

the last episode reminded me of lost of old. the slow motion beach meet up. the ambient piano. the nothing interesting happening except the last 10 seconds. the only bit i liked was when locke came out the jungle to ben. dunno why though

Cuse said of any unresolved plot issues: "Ultimately, the way we look at it is that if the characters don't care about that question, then we as storytellers don't care about that question."

Of course, what the characters do and do not care about is decided upon by . . . well, Cuse and Lindelof, come to think of it. Because the characters are, you know, not real people.

Perhaps Widmore's scheme is what Jacob's new candidate is meant to protect the island from.

Widmore helping Locke off island is proof of Chuck's malevolence....

Alex Rousseau is still the most hot female of the entire show.

all the scenes with her were cringe-inducing because they were so unrealistic. it just bugs me cause i've taken ap exams, applied to colleges, all that shit, and the way they portrayed it was pretty fake. they could've at least researched it a bit or not mentioned ap and yale at all.

this is mainly what bothered me: she said her ap exam was that week or something. ap exams take place about a month after the ivys send letters of acceptance. i was like "woah, error."

maybe alex is a time traveler too.

weren't they talkin about British colonies in India? I don't remember anything even closely related to that in my Europe Hist Ap exam...but then again, i know they focus on different topics every year....I don't remember talking about anything other than the Sepoy Rebellion.

i didn't take ap euro, but what they were talking about sounds like something from ap world, which makes it all even less realistic because kids take ap world sophomore year.

anyway, ap exams don't even matter senior year cause colleges don't see them, so alex freaking out was totally unnecessary and stupid.

also, the whole thing about "oh, it helps if a yale graduate recommends you" is total bs. if they interview you, yes, it helps, but anyone can give you letters of recommendation (EVEN BEN LINUS!). the writers were just looking for ways to shaft linus, lol.

and if linus had evidence of an affair, what would keep him from blackmailing the principal after the recommendation was written?

it's dumb to nitpick at this one section of the show, i know, but it's ridiculous how lazy the writers have gotten. it's like they don't even bother to make anything seem immersive and real anymore.

that whole article is infuriating. they are saying they ran out of time? wtf, if they have 6 seasons of 15 episodes around 45 minutes each, that would be a 68 hour movie! that would be like watching titanic 22 times in a row and then finding out at the end that the boat may or may not have sunk.

even the actors feel the frustrated:

  Quote
Now that Widmore’s back, will Ben’s battle with him resume?

You’d think. [The producers] went to such pains to establish it. But there are three episodes still to film and that’s something that hasn’t been shot yet. I suppose it’s possible that the characters’ [conflict] can be resolved without facing off against one another, maybe through the agency of some third party.

Would that be disappointing?

I’m just a passenger on this ride. But I am anxious for answers that don’t seem to be coming in a rush. I think it’s partly my own personal misunderstanding of the narrative of the show and an over-expectation of climactic answering.

Some fans feel a similar frustration.

I think the answering is coming in a subtler way than many of us expected. But the writers’ agenda may not yet be clear to us.

When will you get the finale script?

Two days before we shoot it. If I get a complete one. You know with the finale of all finales, there are gonna be blank scenes in it that only the actors involved are privy to. I hope I’m on the show long enough that I’m in one of those secret scenes.

Wait — could Ben really not make it to the end?

There have been some casualties. Pretty soon, there’s only gonna be a few standing.
