I feel too that it was somewhat a waste. could've told a lot more.

jacob doesn't really know what he's protecting, or are we supposed to fill in the blanks with a made up scene were crazy gal explains with detail and instructions?.

jacob brings people to the island for what? to kill them all later before they find the glowthing? (like what happened to dharma) or is it just to find a candidate?

I thought the "rule" that made Jacob and MIB unable to hurt each other applied from the moment their fake mother raised them. Then why could Jacob punch his brother and make him bleed? It even occurred twice!

Because it makes for better television when people bleed. Kind of like how in the beginning of the episode and how the woman from the west wing had to speak in that awkward foreign language until the egyptian woman ate the food, and island magic made her know English. All of the island's powers are about making compelling television, and that include's the ability of people on the island to beat the shit out of each other without someone dying.

i liked the episode for shedding more light on jacob/mib

but why wasn't more of season6 like this? we now have just one more episode until the 2hour finale , and I'm guessing not a lot of those remaining 3 hours will be spent on things like the frozen wheel and the light source, seeing as this episode was supposed to be one that answered all that shit. so that's it?

Now that we learned of the smoke monster's origin, what is its purpose?

Who the hell is this woman who posed as Jacob and his brother's mother? -Is she some divine being? She seemed to think that her and her "sons" were different from people, though this was probably a lie since she is aware that her "sons" were born of a "person," which she apparently is not?

Was this woman appointed by someone? What came first, the chicken or the egg?

and are we supposed to like MIB? tbh I'm way more on MIB's side now, Jacob was pretty manchild if you ask me.

I wasn't expecting anything that much better. I don't see why the huge disappointment from everyone, you have to face it that stuff had to be explained some how.

At least it wasn't an episode with Flocke chasing the remaining survivors trying to snipe them over and over. That's what I was expecting :p

it's not just the magic potion, you're missing the parallel here with the love triangle. Crazy mom loved mib more because he wasn't such a fucking pussy, he was like kind of a bad boy, kind of like how Kate totes loves Sawyer more. But it was always supposed to be Jacob/Jack because he'll put up with your crazy bullshit just so long as you give him something shiny to look at to give him purpose.

so we found out who adam and eve are, and that it really means nothing to the story. we also found out mib is not a bad guy, which has been suspected all along. and we find out jacob is a total mommas boy pussy who is also spineless, afraid and has no idea what he is doing. what did we learn this episode that pertains to the main story arc? the island has a golden amazing warm light that is worse than death? lol

Again they explained "how" but nothing of "why".

I'm sick and tired of all those deus-ex machina explaining other kinds of deus-ex machina.

after this much build and this season is just after , there is no way its going to be mindblowing. especially if they keep it open for a movie....
