well, i didn't do it off the top of my head, actually it took me a while (it was a feature for a website, as well, so i had reason to do it). and our lists are understandably pretty similar, lol ... where is gas's 'pop,' though!?

I agree I find that album to be mostly shit yet have seen it close to the top on many end of decade lists.

Not really, some years are bound to be stronger than others. I think it would be unfair to compile a 100 best of decade list and restrict/force yourself to include 10 from each year.

the choice of BOC for #1 surprised me a little bit until i remembered that i met you on soulseek under the username of 'boardsofcanada' good list though , i don't have the right type of brain to compile a top 100 list of the last decade. ill try though

once i go past #10 the ranking is kind of arbitrary, i don't know how you guys are capable of seriously ranking stuff out of 50 or even 100 items

right, i meant more that he wouldn't be opposed to seeing a top 10 list of each year in the 00s, so why be opposed to a top 100 list (i guess because of some sort of misplaced principle, but that's my point).

actually i think only 8 albums from 2008 and 2009 combined made it onto my top 100. and i had like 20 albums from 2001.

nice ... zoviet france and oval almost made it onto mine. actually zoviet france really should have been on there somewhere, alas. and yeah, below about #30 or #40 it gets a bit arbitrary, for sure
