The Green Kingdom
Besides some of the bands previously mentioned, you could check some Rachel's, Johann Johannsson, Max Richter, Arvo Part, Deaf Center, Sylvain Chauveau, Akira Kosemura, Hauschka or Triosk for instrumental stuff. beerwolf
After the Gold Rush by Neil Young. Something about that tune just makes me drift away to places most songs don't take me to. Something special about it to these ears, makes me happy and sad at the same time. The imagery of the lyrics is quite intense. Even though it's proberbly just the ramblings of a stoned hippy, I love it. Zephyr_Nova
Tori Amos in the 90's. Hm, it's actually very hard to think of bands that have done a great job of incorporating piano. Ben Folds is the obvious choice, but you've already got that one covered. Piano bands... drawing a blank... wtf! Tom Waits, but he's more a solo artist, just like the other two I mentioned. Ditto for Bowie. Fuck. I'll have to check out some of the other artists mentioned here, because piano seems to get the shaft among bands.
