I think religions have played an imortant role in solving big problems in past such as

drug abuse, excessive animal sacrifice and spreading of various types of diseases.

In a way, today's doctors and scientists are using the same methods of reassuring people

as their ancient equivalents(shamans and priests). They often neglect data that

doesn't fit in their theory/diagnosis.

Today we have more tools that add certain wheight to our prediction,

but most of the stuff we predict is still far from being objectively true.

Today's scientists will probably be looked back as "tech-shamans".

I'm glad this discussion is still happening, across the globe, forever and ever.
