The Dark Lord
How does one create an acid bass? Does it have to do with the amount of envelope or resonance or what? Would I have to use a TB 303? I am curious. Examples below.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mWQQrXzyEw the beginning pattern http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Lfs6s6e_Io the beginning pattern as well Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/52239-acid-bass-question/ Share on other sites

Guest Otto Krat
Well, too bad I just listenned to the example you gave and it seems you need a tb 303. I can buy your sh101 if your interrested. No seriously: sounds like your trying to produce a typical tb 303 "sound". But in my opinion what makes a bass "acid" is more about composition than about resonance or enveloppe. Anyway, you can already do some pretty "303" stuff by playing with your sh 101 resonance. BCM
the typical acid "sound" comes from the way it's sequenced using slide (portamento) and accent on certain notes and by the way the cutoff and resonance (and other knobs) are tweaked. you can make wicked acid using any kind of bass sound/synth really - doesn't have to be a 303. soundwave
a curious collection of happy accidents the is the TB303... still no clone quite nails it especially that strange liquidy resonance at high accent, high envelope, high resonance as well as the rubber like bass overdrive on the internal mixer with high accent, low resonance, the slide always sounds funky too. the sequencer is a twat to program anyhows to recreate somthing similar have a single VCO with an accent or velocity that affects the filter cutoff + filter envelope amount and the decay of the same envelope the VCA will be controlled by gate time and note tie's and slides that don't retrigger the filter envelope Edited January 8, 2010 by soundwave Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/52239-acid-bass-question/#findComment-1206342 Share on other sites
