if you don't wanna pay 700+ bucks on either a x0xb0x or a real tb-303. a fun and simple alternative is the 'audiorealism bassline' VST and one of these: http://www.korg.de/uploads/media/nanokonBild1.jpg . acid squelches doesn't neceseraly have to be made with a 303, you can use any synth with filters 'n shit! but it's way more fun tweaking it in real time with real knobs than a mouse or automation.

This is my exact 303 setup HAHA

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

i have the d 16 phoscyon (thought i had mentioned it to you before). It's wonderous. My fav. 303. The 303 sounds in the title track to spectrum dust are all from phoscyon.

Everything d 16 does is quality.

You know I'm on the fence. The AB2 is good, but I discovered this GEM yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I like it better, for many reasons.

Gnarly. No idea how it works though.

i have both phoscyon and abl2 but i prefer phoscyon. i use it for all my 303 work. people say authenticity: ABL / devilfish mod: Phoscyon but i think phoscyon sounds just as great when using it standard as ABL. plus it's fucking fun getting in and mucking with the envelope attack and decay setting. and the built in distortion is sick! perfectly tuned to process a 303.

yeah all the extra controls that come with phoscyon make it above and beyond most 303 emu's. It's very flexible.

I found a pretty fun 303 patch for nord modular g2 the other day. I like it better than Audiorealism Bassline and Phoscyon (at the moment), but I doubt it is more accurate (sounds great to me tho). Here's the patch 303 nmg2

It is patched to a random sequence generator through key quantizers, rather than the step sequencer. So you might wanna change that up.

spec - the cause of my facepalm would be the "vibert's famous acid sequences" statement. the sequences that come pre loaded on the ABL are indeed famous, but in no way are they luke vibert's. you must have got confused because of the "ace of clubs" record also featuring many classic acid lines taken from old acid house tracks from '88-'89.

g2's have an unfair advantage b/c they can do pretty much anything :) But yeah i've made somegreat 303 sounding patches with the g1 hardware and g2 software.

Ooo wasn't aware of that. The acid lines from "I love acid" and other tracks off Yoseph and Lover's Acid? They were the ones pre loaded I recognised, haven't got the the ace of clubs album yet

no not those ones - didn't know they came with ABL - must be a newer version to the one I have used... therefore I retract my previous facepalm. sorry.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.
