twin peaks

i love it. i love the childlike characters mixed up in horrible things.

lynch is a meditation junkie and a lot of his ideas come to him during those times. i look at his work as if i'm looking at a collection of his daydreams. so i see twin peaks as a place that this cute cuddly guy, david, likes to go in his mind. He liked it so much that he wanted to share. In the process of sharing, he still went there, developed, moved people around. He's opening up his head for everyone. So we get this blur of characters, feelings, and places, constantly changing but always recognizable that we can go too. There is no reason you should or should not enjoy it. If it didn't grab you, then you'll be okay without it.

this is the attitude behind a lot of my favorite work. musically, shit like ween, bogdan, even a lot of aphex's more popular stuff - it mocks what is popular in its medium with great skill, but balances the sarcasm with genuine respect for the form and passion for its execution. twin peaks is brilliant. it balances some bizarre elements of lynch's work with a storyline that is consistently engaging for its ensemble soap opera performances.

if you get what is good about tv shows, and hate what is bad about them, you will probably like twin peaks.

Twin peaks, season 1( season 2 gets screwed up too much for me) is my favoire tv show ever. The way it's filmed, the way people act (they do a good job at that), the way you are sucked into everything is awesome. If anyone thinks some things are silly-made, wait a few years and check out your favorite tv-shows of this time then. Twin peaks holds out ok, believe me.

this topic has gone too far, there are peeps in here telling that mullholand sucks, for christ sake, CLOSE IT ALREADY!!!!!

The movie is a horrible mess, although it has a lot of great moments.

I also find the series somewhat overrated and boring but i guess it must have been mind-blowing during its original airing since there weren't other "off-beat" shows around back then (?).
