I'm thinking of preordering.. looks and sounds damn nice so far.

One question, what is the significance of saying the vinyl release has "Velum Inner Sleeves". Is this something nice/special/different than regular sleeves? I've drawn on vellum paper and it's quite fragile.

If the vinyl release was the gold foil cover I'd totally buy that...

This just prompted me to order this. And doing so made me miss the bus! :cerious:

I have been suckered in too!

The artwork maybe better than the music LoL, but for a tenner its worth it. I am in 2 minds about FlyLo. We shall see.....

Same here...I said I'd wait and hear this one first (even though I'm a big fan and bought LA unheard).

But I was foiled by the foil.

edit: i've retracted my statement, the album is a grower and i cba talking down when i've only heard it a couple times through. not sure if it beats LA tho hmm

i just listened to the album for the first time in its entirety. many of the first tracks coupled with some of the last tracks felt highly generic and i wasn't really seeing that uniqueness that i was hoping for. the thom yorke track is virtually non-existant too, as his voice is just sort of in a short loop. what does everyone else think?

how did you listen to it??? HOOK ME UP

I thought flylo was damn good at bloc last weekend, and for that reason alone I pre-ordered his album earlier this week. I thought LA was a good album, and i should probably listen to it a lot more.

Maaaaan! I want the gold foil CD and the Double Gatefold Vinyl! But I have NO money. FUCK.

i might be wrong, but it sounds like jenkinson playing bass. but there are alot of people that can play bass like that i'm sure, but it does lead one to believe it's squarepusher.

Oh, I remember reading about the dude from Suicidal Tendencies playing bass on the album

Here we go:

"Like its predecessor, Cosmogramma does not feature any guest rappers. It does, however, boast contributions from string arranger Miguel-Atwood Ferguson, bassist Thundercat (who has played with Suicidal Tendencies, Sa-Ra Creative Partners and Erykah Badu), plus Laura Darlington and a number of other vocalists who Ellison doesn’t want to name as yet. He’s more forthright in revealing some of the artists he woud like to work with in the future.

“Björk is the next one for me. If I work with Björk, then I’ll be a happy soul, man. And Jay Electronica. That needs to happen this year. I’d really like that. Prince– that’d be kind of fun. I have some beats for Prince, man.”

i would be totally curious to hear what a jenkinson/flylo collaboration would sound like. something about each's individual sound doesn't immediately strike me as something that would work out well but the two are quite good at his respective styles so...
