i think avatar might be the best bad movie ever made. we can probably agree on that? or did you guys actually think this was a thought provoking experience?

i could probably agree with this. this was a physical experince, like a porn. like watching the hottest woman ever suck a dick.

Avatar isn't a bad movie. The story is predictable but the acting is well done and I loved all the characters. It was funny, it was sad, it was beautiful and scary. It was an experience unlike any other movie made. To cast it aside cause it didn't fulfill some preachy intelligent discussion or critique on whatever you were expecting, is a little ridiculous. Especially considering how convoluted and difficult it would have been to understand a more complex story with the insane sensory overload of imagery. When the credits rolled my brain kind of just fucking froze. Leaving the theater I felt like days had perhaps gone by, and I felt very sad to be back in a shit-hole shopping mall. This movie pretty much made me hate our society today... if thats not fucking thought provoking, I don't know what is.

yeah i can agree with that.

i'm not really having the acid flashback stuff some of you guys seem to be having, and maybe that's why i wasn't as impressed by this. i was actually drawn out of the 3d physical experience by the horrendous dialogue and story. in many ways i think this would have worked better as a planet earth style documentary on pandora, without the plot. but in the end, i guess i'm being negative about a spectacle, not a movie. as a ride or an experience, this was pretty awesome. it just wasn't really a movie.

for me i was so immersed that the so-called bad plot/dialogue just made it that much more surreal. like, what a fucking weird planet! things are just weird on this planet! the bad guy is so weird! he's like a white wesley snipes from demolition man meets biff from back to the future army seargent! the future is weird!

about a half hour after seeing the movie, i saw a clip of it on conan after we got home and it looked totally different on tv. it looked like a cartoon. stark difference.

yeah, watching a cam quality of this or even waiting for the DVD is just not the same at all. Defintiely going to save up for one of those 3D TV's coming out next year.

zazen did you see it yet?

No, I'm going to see it on Monday with my nephews - 12 and 15 years old. I have been lecturing them about Cameron's contributions to Sci-Fi action movies and pioneering of CGI.

My favorite film ever is probably Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I'm not expecting Avatar to effect me in the same emotional way that that film did, or make me marvel at the poetic script and direction.

Some films you go and see as an adult, and you hope for thought-provoking ideas and poetry. Some films you go and see as a teenager, and in that case what you hope for is that the film will

same here

if you're going to see it in 2d you might as well wait for it to come out on blue-ray , it's going to be pretty long time i suspect before you can see 3d movies like this on your home television affordably.

nah, go see it in 3d.

an exchange before the movie started between me and my wife:

me: *puts 3d glasses on*

me: *looks around the theatre*

me: they work

wife: really?

wife: *puts 3d glasses on*

i cant see it in 3d cuz my left eye doesnt work

i either pay to watch it in regular theatres or watch it on my laptop for free later

fuck off!

if the story looks mildly interesting I would still see it on a nice digital theater display. the 3D is definitely a great aspect of it, but the CG alone makes it look amazing regardless

Do I have to see this in like an iMax theater or something to enjoy it?

What's this 3D shit people are talking about? I have to wear the glasses? lol!

you can rest the glasses on the shaft of my dick in your mouth

I'm just glad the movie seems to have snapped Fred out of his laconic alkie tailspin of the last several months.

Can't wait until this gets to Shanghai: 1-10-2010

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.
