And talking of shoegaze, I remember getting Scar by Lush (just about scraped into the 80s), I loved that record nearly as much as the Mad Love EP. In fact all of their pre-Britpop phase EPs were awesome. More 4AD, Throwing Muses (first two albums and The Fat Skier), Modern English (Dust and Lace), It'll End In Tears (This Mortal Coil), and the Kansas EP by Wolfgang Press. All awesome. Guest Masonic Boom
Yes! <3 early Lush. Those first e.p.s were just earth-shattering for me. The mid period ones got a bit too Robin Gurthried (Cocteau Twins have been namechecked already on this thread, right?) for me but all the early EPs were released as the Gala comp in the States which remains one of my favourite albums ever. Also ditto Throwing Muses - I was gonna toss one of their songs up here but couldn't find the one I was looking for on YouTube. Almost ANYTHING on 4AD in the 80s is gonna be untouchable. Yes, I'm showing my goth roots here - I'll rep for Dead Can Dance as well... Wait, I found it, I was searching for Lonely Is An Eyesore - forgot tha twas the name of the comp, the song was actually called Fish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xovWgb4MZWI Edited February 12, 2010 by Masonic Boom Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/53350-post-your-80s-masterpieces/page/3/#findComment-1240842 Share on other sites

Just get on with posting great videos and songs from the 80s. I've been really enjoying the suggestions on this thread and I hope others are, too. Anyone got any more?
