Dead Kennedys and Nomeansno never put a foot wrong in the 80s IMO:

the only reason she hasnt been banned is cause she paid to be a member of ekt plus or whatever, thats why her name is in bold grey and prolly why she has such an inflated sense of self worth, what a sucker.

First off, YOU'RE flaming/trolling yet again, and you've been warned for it before, and you're warned again.

Second (and this is for everyone) - having a paid subscription does NOT offer any more 'protection' from warnings/banning than non-subscribing members.

In fact, if you look at who's been banned from the site, quite a few were EKT Plus and EKT members...

I'm shocked that there's an 80's music thread and nobody has mentioned one of the synthpop pioneers of the 80's:

One of the best concerts of the 80's, and a great collection of their hits from the 80's:

Even their earlier work features some groundbreaking songs that inspired future electronic music artists, and traditional musicians alike.

Come on guys, MUSIC DISCUSSION. I rarely venture in General discussion while at work for obvious reasons...but I'm always looking to talk about music.

checkout the doc synth britannia for some hilarious early depeche mode footage.. ive never been a huge fan of them but i like some of their songs... 'its no good' is a near masterpiece. that ones from the 90s tho..

I could have sworn they were mentioned in, like, the first few posts!

Which is why I went for Yazoo for Vince Clarkness and not early Depeche...

edit: I've just checked and they weren't. Odd, I could have sworn they were. But maybe it's so obvious that my mind just dropped them in.

But Joyrex, I mentioned them on page two! Maybe it's because I didn't post an image... Then again, see my Dead Kennedys post for why that was probably a good idea.

Now I wanna know what the other DKs album you rate is!

The other album was 'Wrong' by Nomeansno. Let's give that link a go...

Hey Caretstick, don't know if you posted this one...

Frankenchrist is good but not as good as this one:

No dude, I just posted Plastic Surgery Disasters which is my fave. Personally though I think it's just a matter of degree with DK, IMO they never put a foot wrong. And 'Fresh Fruit' is a brilliant album.

Did you ever hear this?

Some good cover versions of DK on there.

Forgot, Alice Donut were on my fave bands who just squeezed into the 80s I think as well.

I just compiled a list from my collection, and then looked through the thread for duplicates. All these are great...many others already posted are also great, just not "essential" to me.
