This is a LOL, more of a LOL was me knowing exactly what Joyrex was going to say about these things as soon as I'd seen them.

Wait, so I'm confused. Because this link that was given earlier, to the person who was told they were wrong for saying that the subcontroller had no motion control, and were requesting a link to the correct information... this one: http://kotaku.com/5490632/playstation-move-everything-you-need-to-know

says the following

  Quote
While the decision is not yet final, at this stage, the Subcontroller does not have its own motion sensor.

lol? or has the decision been reversed and finalized?

According to what I read on other websites, the subcontroller DOES have motion sensors. Dunno for sure now...

Kokoon: yes, yes it does

As for "show me one game that benefits from a motion controller" argument - I think the games that may benefit the most from motion controls are games made specifically for it - while I'm intrigued by the idea of playing a FPS with it, I don't know if it would be an improvement over the traditional methods of controlling those types of games. This will boil down to how much of an initiative Sony makes Move, and how much they push third parties to support it, based on whether it's worth supporting. The PS Eye is virtually useless unless you're playing Eye of Judgement or using it as a supplementary device like in Burnout Paradise or Buzz!.

It might be cool if you could make a stabbing motion instead of having to push a button to use your tactical knife, or point off-screen to reload (aka Time Crisis). If the accuracy improves with this type of control, then it might be beneficial.

They delayed Eyepet so the US/JAP versions would use the Move controller instead of the EU version that uses a "magic card" for the augmented reality interface. Tiger Woods Golf 11 will support it (that's where I could see a motion controller, if accurate and has the right force feedback and weight, would really benefit a game) as well.

I just don't like the idea of trying to cram motion controller into every game. Scott Rohde said in an interview last week that they're investigating how they can fit the Move controller into a lot of their franchises and then later he says they're trying to integrate it into every title they do. I just don't hope they'll do this to sell more Move Controllers and then ignore the gameplay and the controlling of the game. We all know that they want to make money and sit on the throne of gaming but it seems like such a bad idea to suddenly integrate motion controls, which I see as a casual gaming peripheral, onto a hardcore gaming console. I don't know any casual gamers who own a PS3 or Xbox360 (they all own Wiis) so trying to transform these two powerful consoles into something they aren't and hand them over to the casual gamers seems like a terrible idea.

Also, who the hell is going to play Peter Molyneux's 'Milo' game for the Xbox360 using Natal?

I'm excited about this year's E3 though because hopefully both companies will bring something that'll be able to convince skeptics like myself.

(My avatar does a pretty good job at showing my excitement for these fucking motion controllers)

I agree; I don't think motion controls should be put in for the sake of it, but what I have hope for is because of the power of these consoles, that HD and the more CPU ability will bring something to motion control games that the Wii always seemed to lack - think about how much more immersive a PS3/360 game is due to the surround sound/HD graphics compared to the Wii, which essentially GameCube quality graphics. If that added CPU can bring more to the motion-control table, then it will work I think.

Aren't the type of games where it could be awesome obvious? Boxing, Tennis, Golf, LIGHT SABERS!!!!

FPS would probably suck. How do toggle views? Walk/run/jump/crouch? Look around? Switch weapons/objects? You need to a dozen buttons simultaneously within reach to play an fps. I don't see that translating to a motion controller without losing attributes.

but oh fuck give me light sabers

Move controller + 1 subcontroller (analogue stick on subcontroller used for movement (or tilting if has motion sensors), Move controller used for aiming reticule)

Jump, crouch and action button(s) on subcontroller, fire button on Move controller. Point down/offscreen to reload, swiping motion with subcontroller (assuming it does end up having motion sensors) for knife/melee attack. Lob motion for grenade/semtex/C4, downward stabbing motion to plant claymore.

Seems pretty straightforward to me.

@ 0:54 it says "PlayStation Eye camera sold seperately"

Am I missing something here? Doesn't the Move peripheral require the PS Eye?

The video is kinda fun though.
