Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

And glitter freeze is awful. It sounds like no time or effort was put in it, even compared to the Lou Reed track. Maybe that was the point though, to sound like a shitty synth driven electro single released by The Fall.

Imagine if he got some one like Fly Lo to producer tracks for them, could of been real interesting.

I love Fly lo, but a whole album with his production wouldn't be appealing, just an hour of glitch-hop. I think Albarn could of made this with different producers on each track AND still kept the same theme/overall feel he wanted. He's an excellent collaborator. Demon Days was great because Dangermouse didn't stick to one formula for every track, yet it still sounded like a Gorillaz album. I dunno if another Dan The Automator album could of been pulled off, but he could of had a plethora of IDM, house, indie, and electronic producers lending a hand if he spend some extra time on the project.

Still like the album, just think he should of released it under his own name or some funny, tongue-n-cheek sideproject of Gorillaz itself...i.e. like MF Doom's Viktor Vaughn alias or The Tuss.

like um. the monkey play thing is more or less a gorillaz project without being gorillaz. and i've read that this album is a continuation of the carousal project (which was going to be gorillaz related project without being gorillaz..). hmm.

does the 2nd track sound like an orchestal version of drop it like it's hot, or is it just me. confusion

"Empire Ants" sounds like it's been produced by Bibio. It reminds me the Sugarette track.

overall the album isnt great in my opinion... but a few tracks are really good.

Empire Ants is my current fav, with Plastic Beach close behind. Plastic Beach almost sounds like it could have been on the first album with that party rap feel. Just a bit updated.

I would be pissed if they dont release the track in this vid. Absolutely love that snippet and I am confident that the whole track would easily become my favorite.

Wow. I agree! If it isn't on the full album then they might release a B-sides/D-sides again this time like they've done the last couple of times. Plus, Hong Kong from D-Sides is probably one of my favorite Gorillaz tracks.

I like Self Titled, Demon Days, and especially D-Sides. This new album is a huge disappointment though. It sounds like all of the pop on the radio.
