Autechre Autechre on Late Junction

Around the time of Quaristice's release, 'Simmm' was played on BBC Radio 3's Late Junction. Now, RadioTimes's entry for next Tuesday's edition (6th April) reads: 'Fiona Talkington with new music from electronic duo Autechre, spoken word from Ursula Rucker and a recording by the tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain.' Any suggestions or wishes as to what she will play? Personally, I doubt she'll play 'Treale', but 'O=0' might be a possibility.

Right, well for those who would have been interested in doing so but perhaps wouldn't necessarily have known about it, let's consider this thread an announcement of their music's appearance on the programme. But, unless I'm mistaken, this is a discussion forum, and it would arguably be very bland if it only consisted of announcements with no allowance for intrigue. Similar with literature, really. And music, come to that.

Lets guess what they'll say in their next interview too!

"Me and Rob were mates back in Sheffield and we used to graffiti" is a possibility. Discuss?

Missed the first track, but OS Veix3 just kicked in. Damn, that's one beautiful tune :)

The first track was my dream one, 'known(1)'. The tracklist for the second chunk of Autechre is actually wrong, because she played 'os veix3', like you say, and then my predicted 'O=0'. After some talk of playing 'os veix3' at 45rpm, I almost fancied she was playing it at that speed, before I got a grip of myself and realised she wasn't.

It was a fantastic show overall, though. I made some wonderful discoveries in Mari Boine, Ruth Theodore and Emily Portman - a night devoted to the ladies - and that Raphaël Imbert arrangement of Duke Ellington's 'Echoes of Harlem' (from this record) in 7/8 was cool.

Yep, you can stream/download it with get_iplayer, if the app is still available from your distro's repository. Failing that, I can try sending you my executable binary, but it may take a bit of trial and error to get the right file(s) to you. At the moment (if you have get_iplayer installed) you can do get_iplayer --get 11375 to download last night's edition. Failing all that, you can stream it online here.
