Autechre Activities performed while listening to Autechre

So far I have found the following activities to be enjoyable while under the influence of Ae:

-watching MLB baseball with no other sound, using the Gameday page.

-reading science fiction

-reading William S. Burroughs

-cooking food

I hope to one day try to use my favourite braindance group's tunes as "mood music" with a girlfriend or spouse, but for now this is just a distant fantasy.

What are your favourite things to do while you listen to Ae?

P.S. Note that I didn't make a thread like this for BoC, because there it would almost all be the same, i.e. drop acid, smoke a joint, film a documentary, reminisce about childhood, etc.

any zensportive activity that incorporates the bountiful pleasures of modern technology such as operating a leafblower...jackhammer...or commandeering naval vessels

ah and

i find zeiss contarex particular stimulating when mopping floors

Driving in the snow. Tri Repetae, Chiastic Slide, Anvil Vapre and Envane make loads of sense in the snow.

But besides that, my favourite thing to do is drive around aimlessly. Autechre is good driving music and it generally has much more visceral bass in a car. I'd imagine it would be excellent music to draw to, but I have yet to try this as I only draw once every year or so.

Also, V-Proc: how do you manage to read while listening to Ae? I find that I can hardly read to any music except ambience/drone.

i pace about the room without really being aware of my doing so, and after about ten minutes ben franklin starts to speak to me in my head. autechre is the best!

Mainly whilst taking my hour for lunch walking around the town centre.

No-one knows what's going inside my head as I browse for a new tie...

LOL yeah we got about five seconds into Gantz Graf and I had to go switch it off because it was "giving her a headache"

Sorry, Ae is a boys club up and down and any girl who is into them will do so at first to indulge you and play along with that whole romantic love dopamanergic rush. Give it a couple of years and you'll get suplexed while she shrieks "I can't take any more clacking or clicking or beats that aren't even fucking beats!!!!!"

I call shenanigans on this. I met a nice english lady on here who is well into IDM and Autechre and we met irl. It's not unheard of to find girls who are into Ae, just very uncommon.

My ex and me first got it on to Gescom's Megamix. It was strangely fitting...

Reading and Autechreing is impossible, you just read the same sentence about forty times.

Walking and Autechreing is good. I painted my bedroom to LP5, that was good.

Oh and Spider Solitaire.

Constructing infinite permutations of Mr Potato Head is fun to do while Aeing. I made one that was nothing but arms once.

Any form of travelling.

I played Amber on a slow bus trip through the Indian Himalaya. Was right up by Tibet, huge glaciers and peaks everywhere, passing through tiny little villages. Most of the journey was above 4500m altitude. I just knew when the old bus left what was going to be the soundtrack to its voyage. Amber delivered.

Nowadays I do a lot of cycling and depending on what the weather is or what landscape I will play Autechre. One of my favorites in the summer is Vletrmx21, I press play when I know I have a few minutes left to climb and when I will get to the top, leaving time for the descent. Nothing beats this tune on a warm summers day, gently breezing on down a nice descent. Nobody else around. Big clear blue skies. Warm air. Makes me feel like flying and the world around me is much bigger than it is. It makes me feel in touch with the fabric of nature and the universe. Makes me high without drugs.

Tri Repetae for example I would play when travelling by train into London. As it has that swooping resonating industrial kind of sound to it.

LP5 and Oversteps I play more at home, just chilling out. Just travelling in my mind.

Their harsher albums Confield, Draft and Untilted I don't have. I guess my head don't agree with this class of travel LoL.

Me, I do the following:

* Write Fiction

* Read Ficiton

* Research science for work

* Write about science for work

Staring at thunderstorms and partaking of a special, special drink is also a nice fit.
