Autechre Bad Romance

Just wondering if anyone has, for some reason, synched up Autechre to this Lady Gaga video before. I have. An acquaintance showed me the video and I told her that it needed funkier beats. I muted it and played some Débruit which worked nicely. Later I started trying other tracks* and really enjoy it with Doctrine.

Mute it. Play Doctrine after the video runs for just under two seconds.

If properly synched, the initial "clap" will go nicely with her surprised look and the introduction of lots of bright lights is around the 0:57 silence in Doctrine.

* sometimes when I'm listening to music, I think "if this were a soundtrack to my life, what would I be doing for it to most appropriately fit?" Often the answer is simply riding my bike. Other times it's more mundane: walking out of the library into the rain (to unlock my bike and then ride it...), etc. However, for Calbruc I can think of absolutely nothing except for storming a building with automatic weapons matrix-style. I guess my life just isn't intense enough for the track. But if you try it with Bad Romance (both starting at the same time) it lines up so well towards the three minute mark.

I wasn't expecting it to, but it syncs up perfectly. Wow. They must be the same BPM (too sleepy to check right now). Even the strobe towards the end of the video. The clickety-clacks starting at the exact moment gaga freezes with those shards around her... brilliant. Conceptually it's a match made in heaven as well.

I actually hadn't watched the video before, it was pretty nice too.

It's pretty amusing how generic her music is when her visuals are always so interesting. Sucks when people threaten to do something interesting with mainstream music but don't deliver the goods. Props to Radiohead for coming through with it on Kid A and Amnesiac. No one else as mainstream as them has ever traversed so far from the market.
