yah a nice cup or 2 of french press (bodum) coffee in the morning, alongside a cup of juice, fantastic. And it does seem to make that morning shit extra enjoyable! I can't drink after about 4pm cos I will be up all damn night.

With ice tea, it's so full of sugar, yet I love it, so I make a cup or 2 of green tea and put that in the fridge and go 50/50 with that and the ice tea. Really great and almost good for you.

One thing I have been meaning to do it throw a shot of (cold) espresso into a glass of coke and see if success or failure ensues. I suspect success.

LOL

Don't forget to pop a ritalin while you are at it.

I prefer freshly ground Ethiopian coffee in a stainless steel French press.

Guatemalan coffee ftw. There's this blend I've bought a bunch of times that almost smells like chocolate and the flavour is so round and lovely. Making an espresso shot with this blend is like drinking rainbows and taking chocolate showers

I'm a stim junkie. My favorite source is from GNC called Platinum Pump Fuel raspberry lemonade. It's a pre-workout and it's awesome with 200mg of caffeine per scoop. Makes the workouts so much more intense.

Shitnuts!

I cant understand the logic of drinking a load of caffeine and then working out. Sure adrenaline is enough? Plus its just kind of asking for a cardiac arrest of some sort. You ever hear of sudden death syndrome? I'm not sure I would be happy putting that kinda strain on my heart and I'm still fucking young.

It's a special blend that I buy at the best coffee shop in Denmark (also a couple of years ago it won the prize for best coffee shop and best baristas in Europe). If you want me to I could send you a bag...

I sent kokoon their espresso blend as part of my Secret Santa package and he loved it :)

I try not to drink coffee or things with caffine. Sometimes it makes my heart beat reallyy fast and I feel like I'm going to pass out. Also, after being ( more or less) caffine free for about a year or two, it's much easier to stay alert without something to help.

Yesterday I did have 2 cans of mountain dew and an americano, though.

My girlfriend told me that she read that coffee drinkers have less of a chance of getting dementia later in life. Could be true.

Has anyone ever tried the energy drink Cocaine (in a red can)? It was on sale in NYC for about 48 hours before it was pulled from shelves. I kinda wanted to try it.

The New York Post is reporting that Cafe Grumpy in New York City is serving a $12 cup of coffee.

Mind you, not every cup of coffee at Cafe Grumpy is $12.

Just the Ethiopian-bred Nekisse bean, which Grumpy's Web site describes as "a very clean, sweet, complex cup with tropical fruit notes of pineapple, kiwi and key lime. Floral notes of jasmine, lemongrass and rosemary." In the story, Steve Holt, vice president of Ninety Plus Coffee, the distributor, went further and said it also contained flavors of apricot, bergamot, with chocolate "tones." He called it a "cacophony of nuances," but I assume he means that's a positive quality. In addition, we learn from the Post piece that the beans are handpicked, then "dried on a raised African drying bed," never touching the ground.

Finally the beans are roasted at the coffee shop and served.

Here is a video from another source.

That aeropress looks intriguing, but please tell me I'd be pouring that very hot water into a device made out of good old inert glass, and not some phthalated BPA-laden shiny plastic.

edit: sorry if this is explained in the clip, I can't listen to sounds at stupid work. Grrr work stupid garr.

edit 38: haha, holy shit, I remember aerobies. Those were the bomb in '91.

Apparently, they've been BPA-free since August of 2009.

I'm pretty much going to get one now.

Why did I feel the need to reference Aerobies and 1991 twice? Also, "bomb"; "jam"? Jesus fuck, I'm out of it today. Got lost in the rabbit hole of a hundred edits. Sorry watmm.

It only took half a decade, but I just followed through with this and bought an Aeropress.

Surprised I never commented in this thread...

I usually drink a couple cups of green tea (reusing the same tea bag) every day, but will sometimes drink coffee or an Americano if I need the extra boost. I'm off alcohol for the month since I felt I needed to take a break to reset my habits. It's been a crazy year, plus the drinking always increases around the holidays. I generally load up on caffeine when I'm not boozing.

Everyone needs a vice, right?

I cope with daily life with a very simple strategy for the last few years: 2 to 6 cups of coffee during the day (usually four) and 4 to 5 cups of Rooibos tea after dinner.

Before that I had periods in which I stopped with caffeine for a month or two to detox (because I'm basically just really caffeine sensitive but mostly in denial) and I was always suprised at how much better I felt, waking up became a lot easier too... But everytime I just couldn't resist a cuppa in the morning and so it began again. I'd love to just quit and only drink tea, but this won't happen anytime soon, tea just doesn't cut it in the early hours for work.

P.S. - once in a blue moon (=when I have to) I visit Starbucks and I seem to have a lot of trouble asking for a cup of coffee. As in, just a normal cup of coffee. They just look at you like you're ordering donuts in a bicycle shop and reply with at least five questions about how that cup should be crafted.
