Aphex Twin Because You don't Give a Fuck EP

I searched to see if a topic had been started and found none. A while ago I found this album called Because You don't Give a Fuck EP, somewhere. I honestly don't remember. Most of the tracks are just remixed Aphex Twin tracks. I guess it could be a fan-made compilation of live/outtakes... but there's no entry on Discogs and I've ... never heard of this ... so I doubt it's for real? Regardless, it's nice. Especially like Sage and Onion Stuffin.

I couldn't find anything about it more official than this. Moreover, recently I lost lots of my music and didn't have this. I searched and found it tonight and in the .zip I found was a .txt which says only "Very rare never released EP connected with ...I Care Beacuse You Do."

I imagine it is very rare if it were never released!

After a brief flip through the tracks, I should rephrase "it's nice" as "sage and onion stuffin is the only really good track."

It's V/VM, apparently, though also not listed on his Discogs.

Yeah, it's just mislabeled. It's one of 4 ep's V/Vm has made.

i still haven't really listened to any of the v/vm aphex reworks-is any of it really that good?

lol to be honest I Thought the EPs were hilarious as you really need to be an Afx fan to be able to laugh at them (some of the track titles like "lonely bank vault wank" only fans would get in the first place)

Its a harmless piece of humour, some beats are interesting sometimes, the rest of it is just comedy mostly (or intending to piss RDJ off but I think RDJ would just find it hilarious imo)

I agree with this. A few tracks are really nice, the rest is just noise/nonsense (heh, funny saying that on this forum). I've only heard this one (V2.0, I suppose, which I thought was called the title of this thread) and V4.0 which had a few great tracks; specifically If I Were a Rickyham. Once I (last night) did some research about it, I respect them for what they are, which is, as Macca said, more an attempt at humor.

I have most if not all of the EPs on my laptop... if anyone wants to hear them they can PM??? is it legit to upload them Joyrex? as v/VM gives out his music for free....

But he didn't give these out for free - they were commercially sold. So, the answer is no. Also, just because it was distributed by the artist for free, does not give anyone the right as well to do so, as you are depriving the artist of control over their work and how it is presented.

yeah but I just find it sort of hard to enjoy...it just comes off as a mashup album by a guy that seemed jealous of him.

To weigh in on this a bit - I know James (and have released one of his records at my label) and I'm very doubtful about any actual jealousy of Aphex. If you weren't aware, messing up other people's music was and is a V/Vm "thing", and he's done it with/to dozens of other people's things (I suggest checking his hilarious redo of "Lady In Red")...also I recall reading somewhere that RDJ himself was quite amused by these and approved of them being sold with his likeness being ripped to shreds. Not too surprising from a guy who pokes fun at his own fame 99% of the time anyway...
