properly-configured greasemonkey/flashblock/*plugin of choice* + updated blacklist (or whitelist if you're paranoid) means you get all the flash that's actually useful or necessary whilst avoiding the shite. well, except for sites designed entirely in flash. and interstitial adverts. someone will burn in hell for inventing them.

why using a blocker with a blacklist? i find the blocker which just blocks anything flash so much more useful. and if i do want to see the flash: just friggin click it (click2flash is my other bitch)

the mac platform has always been limited this way, and this was pretty much the reason some people preferred MacOS. so i don't see what's the big deal, let macheads buy their limited hardware and let apple dictate what they are allowed to do on it. Jobs has a vision, it may be a stupid one but let him do his thing.

this. Regardless of the truth of what was said - Jobs may be lying through his teeth or deluded for all I know - he certainly came off cool as a cucumber in that exchange. He didn't rise to the bait and his replies were short and concise.

his delivery was cool, but the 'freedom from porn' comment is very revealing of what his ideals are. if you take out all the snarkiness on both sides i'd say that's the one interesting fact to look at from this discussion
