Any who, being a PC/Linux guy, I don't have any issues with Apple; I just have issues with the community of arrogant, awkwardly self-righteous stargazers that think somehow their Apple product is the savior of mankind. Their marketing campaign gets to me as well, as it only seems to feed these Apple folk more cream of mushroom which in turn gets regurgitated all over my lap on a daily basis.

 

Good for Steve Jobs though, he was the clear winnier of that of an article.

Who thinks apple is the savior of mankind? All this comes down to is people paying a crap load for their computers and wanting to "think" its the very best no matter what anyone else thinks. You buy an expensive Apple computer, you are going to want to believe you made a good decision. People who invest in super powerful pcs, people who build their own, these people will probably be just as passionate about believing theirs is best. All this comes down to is subjectivity and an understanding that there are a lot of rich arrogant people who see the latest trends and follow them. I really wouldn't get worked up over these losers.

i don't know what you guys are talking about when you say people think apple is better, etc. i don't think apple users think about that stuff at all. it's the pc people that you'll see bitching about it all the time.

I work for a software company (a paperless system for dental offices, Windows platform only) and deal with these mac users all the time... the arrogance pours like salt over an open wound. Plus I have some family members that are just as bad. I don't even try to fight about it anymore, it's useless.

I think I'll keep my PC, since it was free, but if I purchase a CPU, it will likely be something with a partially-consumed symbol for temptation stamped on it.

yeah i don't actually know if what i said was true. i've never had to deal with it personally.

i like mac because it has logic and safari which is pretty much all i need. what does suck is a lot of the software doesn't work on it, but it's worth it for the ease of use and rarity of crashes.

I have a PC and generally defend it in arguments but I've used mac's briefly and there are a bunch of interesting differences going on.

That aside, I think that when the other side is smugly bragging about how awesome their shit is, sometimes it's because their shit IS actually way better than your shit.

I generally find that there are like 4 hardcore apple fanbois there...99 bottles of beer guy being the worst (I think he's the guy that does that apple blogsite which is just full of skewed "research") and they make the loudest kerfuffle.

yeah, ok...because Mac OS has been able to cut and paste files in the Finder since at least 2003. i'm all for picking up on the problems of an OS, but make sure you get your facts straight.

You can't cut files in Finder. You can only copy and paste. Cut works only for text.

So what though. Use Launchbar or Quicksilver.
