A not-very-serious question I want to ask you all...

it's too late for them to have a 'decent' job so they're stuck to making money with making tunes. i really feel for them

They already have deals for product development, with all their knowledge on production and sound design, they'll always be balls deep in ca$h.

source?

One of the interviews they did for Qauristice, I believe.

At least 4 more full length LPs with X amount of EPs. Though I honestly can't imagine them to be the type to just not exude stuff they want to release either.

I hope they do a double LP where each of them has their own disc, that way we can see the differences in style between the two. I would imagine they are fairly inter-related at this point though.

i'd love to hear something like that. most prog bands tend to do it (see: emerson lake & palmer's 'works'), and autechre are pretty much prog idm so yeah something.

It seems almost too predictable tho. They would only do something like that if no one would see it coming. Like maybe if they went through some kind of radical operation where they fused their brains together and became one person, made a few albums like that, and then were like "ok the next album is gonna be a double disc of Sean tracks and Rob tracks" so the challenge for them would be to try to remember which part of their collective personality and talent was Robs and which was Seans.

Fucking lol!:cisfor:

dream on. incunabula is passé.

r&s call it cheesy. and i would agree. but so is some of the stuff on plaid's trainer, and orbital's first album. and they all sound a bit like each other.

Yes, it's an interesting thought but Autechre is not Rob + Sean it's that third thing that has a life of it's own and they know that. Autechre is THE Monster from the Forbidden Planet, it's beyond them and only like that it can exist at this quality level...but not because they aren't talented enough individually but because it's their interactive subconscious vision that came alive and they have to feed it together.

TL:DR; autechre is more than the sum of its parts.

yeah pretty much. but that just means that solo projects could be different beasts altogether!

i'd like to hear them do some stuff with acoustic instruments, not necessarily traditional ones, maybe homemade instruments triggered electronically via max/msp.. hmm
