I may try to make an extraction from mimosa root bark. We have a ton of those in the area.

Your profile says you live in St. Louis. I'm 99.9% positive the mimosa hostilis plant you're looking for only grows in South America, unless you're just thinking of mimosa trees which I don't believe contain any DMT whatsoever. but you can find certain reliable websites that sell high quality mimosa hostilis rootbark & you can get it ordered and shipped from within the US. The extraction process is very very simple compared to what it takes to synthesize LSD or MDMA & it doesn't involve any hard to get chemicals or anything like that. I actually happen to be doing this right now & I should be ordering the rootbark within the week. If anyone is interested I can let you know about my progress or post a load of helpful links on the subject.

the similarities of the DMT experience is interesting, but one has to keep in mind it might be the same phenomenon that happened with alleged alien encounters, after one well documented and publicized case described the now typical short, skinny alien with big head and large eyes, these sort of descriptions started to be the de facto standard. and the popularity of the x-files further fueled that. same with the light tunnel seen in near-death experiences, also a similar phenomenon happened there.

are you saying this could all be human-manifested hallucination? in which we actually have no idea of what were perceiving? this is very paradoxical, and only proves the pointlessness of attempting to pull any TRUE, solid meaning out of these experiences, but that fact proves even more so, that this is indeed a true phenomena, simply from the fact that we can't wrap our minds around it...

It's Rick Strassman's thesis. That Dmt allows one to communicate with other universes, including aliens living in these parallel universes.

Do yourself a favor:

*the book*

thank you, but i understand that point for point, if my OP didn't elaborate enough into that fact already. i'm asking if there is any permanent order or truth to the realms of existence being perceived by the tripper , or if it is just a realm subject to change based on the trippers world-view, cultural conditioning, etc...

it is an interesting area of study - one scientist has tried to determine if this is the case by having one subject under the influence of dmt present the 'machine elves' with a product of two prime numbers , and then having a second subject see if they can provide the prime factors:

other than alex grey's work, i've never really seen any other illustrations concerning this sort of phenomena. though there is a woman named Monica Szu-Whitney who creates portraits of inter-dimensional beings she encounters during out-of-body experiences.

her art can be found on her website Spiritual Psychic Art

her art is found in these gallery one the website:

DMT just trips you out.

There is nothing spiritual or divine about it.

It does what all drugs do, mess with your head & make you feel, see & think things

that are not really there. You can trip hard & think you've had a "spiritual experience",

but really all you had was a crazy trip, trust me, I use to do ALOT of Psychedelics, okay?

I hate when people are like "I had a spiritual experience on DMT"

No! You had a Psychedelic drug induced experience on DMT, not spiritual.

Real spiritual experiences don't require you to take a drug or subsistence that alters your mind.

20A. Juules — “When music is inspired from love, you can feel the love pour straight into your heart. When an artist puts their entire being into a painting, you can experience the picture through all your sensory organs—through touch, sight, taste, smell, and sound. Sincere artistic passion in any discipline naturally titillates and assuages all the senses. Can you hear, see, feel, taste, and smell the expression with every neuron?”

got disagree there. why would someone else be an authority on what is a spiritual experience and what is not, these experiences are entirely subjective and to say that ones experiences is somehow less valid because it was caused by an entheogen is just plain arrogant-

the profound weirdness of psychedelic experiences can be and usually is seen as spiritual. and the similarities of intense religious experiences are strikingly similar to psychedelic experiences. they are intertwined and connected.

personally i don't take these experiences as spiritual, but i can full well understand how they could be. i take them as they are, manifestations of the mind aka. psychedelic, looking at the world and my mind with different lenses.

Wait. I'm probably misunderstanding this thread : do you guys really think DMT is a dimensional opener ?

i´m totally not into drugs but DMT sounds like a VERY interesting thingy. "dimensional opener" is a weird and maybe misleading phrase, but the way we perceive the world is filtered by so many things: our given senses, the capacity and efficiency of our brain and how it handles the information it gets from our senses, our socialisation, the limitation of language etc. maybe DMT "opens these filters" or something. i´d like to try it some day, i wouldn´t even mind all the puking

Guest Babar

I really don't feel the wave of enthusiasm you guys are feeling. I mean there are lot of different paths that can lead you to this shitty concept called spirituality. How old are you ? You must all be in your twenties, but what will you think when you'll be 40 ? "Let's forget it, i was just a tad hippy, i was idealist, taht's all".

i'm 19, and spirituality isn't some shitty concept, it's the human beings subjective will to the truth of their being. and no, by the time we are all 40 we won't be saying the same thing the generations before us said, trust me. actually, trust yourself on that one. idealism isn't just an idea which fades away with time as new, better ideas come out of the human psyche and replace it, it's within all of us. love is quickly accompanied by idealism and love is universal. /treehugger bs

How do you know these 'real' spiritual experiences you talk about aren't brought on my drug like substances in the brain?
