Aphex Twin An acid (AFX?) track that I just can’t place…

Hi,

When I got hold of the Analords quite a while ago, I somehow ended up with an unknown MP3 file on my hard drive, tagged as “AFX” and from “Analord”. I’ve never found out what exactly this track is, because I couldn’t find it on any of the Analords, so I’m uploading a short excerpt here, hoping that someone can give me a hint at where this comes from and whether it really is AFX/Aphex Twin or not…

sounds like a track he used in a live set and definitely not an afx track.

Aphex played it in the 2002 rome set, but I thought it was squarepusher (squarepusher played the track on his liveset from the Warp20 gig (2009) which he himself said included all sorts of unreleased stuff). This particular version is a soundboard recording coming from a Cylob liveset, together with another unreleased squarepusher track.

Definitely not—I have the AFX/LFO split, and the track’s not on there (it is a bit similar, though).

If that’s true, I am curious how I got hold of the full MP3 for the track…

Because Cylob played the track(s) on a liveset (marking it as a whitelabel on the setlist, available on his blog I think), and the liveset was released as a soundboard recording. Some people thought "OMG whitelabel, that must be AFX" and it found it's way on the net like that (kazaa style), but since the squarepusher liveset it has been proven to be Tom.

I took it as "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor

to me it seems like richard's voice is singing this sentence, but it's just a watmm interpretation .
