Ed Banger To Release Squarepusher's new projet

Recommended Posts

Yeah I just hope that this time Ed Bangers Records will respect their own deadline ! SebastiAn's album was announced 2007 and it still not released yet

But the thing (Shobaleader, not SebastiAn) seems to be ready, so...No problem :emotawesomepm9:

does anyone know if this is an lp or ep or what??

Well it's stated "Oizo on the remix side", so I guess that an EP is coming.

Plus they released a very few album each year, and Uffie's one has been released only a month ago or something.

But they may have more unreleased Shobaleader material !

Ed Banger,,,why Ed Banger??

i think he must back 2 rephlex :squarepusher:

He's going to reach a much larger audience and make a lot more money with Ed Banger. Everybody who would have bought it if it came out on Rephlex is going to buy it when it comes out on Ed Banger, but given Rephlex's marketing prowess a lot more folks are going to hear about it on Ed Banger that don't normally pay attention to Squarepusher.

I can't see Rusko checking the rephlex.com home page looking for a new Squarepusher release, for instance.

Everybody has got to get paid, and given the current market for music, I think it's a wise choice.

wicked news. i've liked all his recent output, but would love to hear him getting back to music that's less the wire / jazz festivals, more about just having a laugh.

(and illegal dustbin was not that. illegal dustbin was weak)

Yes! Wicked news! I guess its only a ep, or only a single/maxi, an introduction of things to come. Ed Bangers is an interesting choice, its maybe because the label, like it was said before, has a young audience who probably never heard of him before.

Musicialy I have yet to find an artist on ed, which keeps my interest, because i am not in this "Big Beat" kind of thing. It even might be the "hippest" electronic label in the heart of europe. Ultimately I think he definetly deserves a wider audience. Although his last 2 tours through europe, the longest time he has been touring i think, was apparently quiet succesfull, the recordings are obviously lacking in commercial sucess. Solo Electric Bass 1 for example, a very limited release, is even after 1 Year since it was available for preorder still physically for sale on bleep. Same goes for the vinyl releases of Lucent and Jas. Warps main rooster, with the most sucess, consists of Lotus, Mohawk , Grizzly Bear, Battles and Co. Maybe all "release slots" for this year has been reserved for the new Battles, or !!!.

I like the cover with Samurai very much, did you notice the chequer pattern of the paper this artwork was drawn on. A Squarepusher Release it is.

Also, i think we all know that the decision of moving to ed for this releases, could gives us a hint that the will witness a attemp of a squarepusher "pop" release, like red hot car or "Untitled"(Do you know Squarepusher).
