I think at least in my mind there is a big difference between taking your dick out as a joke to make others uncomfortable (women or men) VS taking out your dick and finishing a full jerk off session in front of people who didn't invite it. Hopefully if there is any truth whatsoever to the allegations they fall more into the first category (which arguably could be called very inappropriate but still relatively harmless) the latter imo would constitute a form of sex crime (whether it could literally be called assault would have to be determined by the law, im not sure)

edit: the popular female comedy duo mentioned in the Gawker article is obviously Garfunkel and Oates (just for anyone who didn't catch that)

It's alleged that they tried to leave and he blocked the door.

There's a scene in Louis where he does almost exactly that to Pamela. She doesn't want to fuck and he awkwardly won't let her leave the flat, blocks the door. Since the show reflects his real life pretty much, it's likely he's done something like that before. The rumours could have stemmed from that scene though.

It's brave putting something like that in his show but it's common for sex pests to hide in blind sight as well.

saw the sexual harassment news followed by the SNL monologue bomb news and started freaking out a little a bit. i've always had friends here and there sort of say louis ck crosses into the too controvosial territory with rape humour, etc. but i have always took the position of defending him on the grounds that he has that detached but insightful, satitrical kind of take on the jokes that never enter too insulting territory but actually do deliver genuine humour. louis ck defender!! essentially. started freaking out a little bit reading those articles like, oh no?? he actually IS a terrible person??? i haven't even seen season 5 of louie yet so i was kind of hoping the allegations and everything would at least come out big and proper AFTER i had finished season 5 so i could at least watch and enjoy it first without having to worry about that stuff.

but ahh. watched the SNL monologue after a good solid day of pondering and holy shit the bit got me laughing good. he did lose the crowd a bit with the end bit but seeing as the talk had already gone on for 8 minutes by that point it was pretty obvious it was the >ending< of the bit and there wasn't much other areas he could swing the talk to and crowd control his way back on track?? like, if it was an hour long comedy routine and the crowd started reacting poorly to the jokes, you could swing the matter around and go in a different direction. but the ending of the SNL monolgoue was clearly the big controvosial banger ending of the monologue and he was sort trapped with trying to make the ending worked. which turned into him doing the 'but not us becauase we're all totally cool!!' and thumbs upping at the audience, which in a dumb pathetic way was also making me laugh.

what a bunch of sensationalist media hype garbage. the bit may have been controversial and, i guess as evident was probably not the most suitable material for SNL wide spread coverage, but imo the comedy and handling of the matter was still totally spot and im happy to say i will still be able to watch season5 guilt free while the rumours are still nothing more than half baked rumours!!

i'm totally ok with louie being naughty here and there if that's what keeps him going. i mean polanski fucked a teen but that didn't make him less of a brilliant director...

not just fucked but drugged and then probably technically raped, but yes I agree about that (Polanski still being a brilliant director). The difference with Polanski though is I already knew about all that shit before i seriously checked out his movies. So going in I did it with the idea of 'this guy raped a teen at jack nicholson's house' and i still really loved what I saw.
