England looking pretty good in the first half. Can't remember the last time I felt comfortable with a goalkeeper and the team seem generally solid.

Huge with Finland losing to Moldavia 2-0. It's the inability to finish off these countries they should beat if they want a sniff at a chance to advance, but instead shit the bed with scoreless ties or losses against the huge football nations such as Moldavia and Azerbadjan or manage to go up 3-0 against Germany only to concede a 3-3 tie in extra time. Finland really sucks at football. I hope they never get to the final tournament in the Euro or WC.

Rooney provided three brilliant passes that led to Defoe's goals. There is more to football than scoring goals you know?

As for Capello, it's tough. He's obviously a good manager, but fuck i wish he would show at least a little pleasure when his players score. A smile might not be bad.

Beckham is old, was always overrated, and they didn't win fuck all with him.

Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from... I wouldn't have Beckham in the Scotland line-up. But that's probably just because he'd put too many decent balls into the box that our "strikers" fail to capitalise on....

For this reason, I think I'll continue watching England v Pakistan, and then switch over to the footie. It's always a joy watching Shoaib bowl.

also terry and lampard your not missed. while im at it SWP dosnt deserved to be in the squad. well done to bent, i no longer believe in rooney, so a dafoe/bent partnership is looking good. .

Well, I was right earlier on about embarassment (i'll even spell it correctly this time) for the Scots. I don't think you can get any more jammy than us tonight. We could be in for a hefty shoeing off the Spanish next month.

Insane, Chris. Rooney was integral in the 4 goals against Bulgaria and scored tonight. Rooney is the best player we've got, even if he's a cunt who isn't world-class.

Bent simply does not have enough in his arsenal to play at an international level. Defoe isn't much better, but at least he's got a bit of pace.

I agree that Johnson is looking amazing, but it's still a shame that Walcott got injured. Even if his primarily used a sub, his pace is enough to terrifying any tired defenders in the second-half.

We definitely don't miss Lampard. We play much better without him, but I think Terry is still very much needed in defence. Jagielka looks good, but he needs a solid partner. Lescott isn't up to it. Upson neither. Cahill could act as a great sub for Jagielka and Rio might as well stay away.

Walcott played much better in these two qualifiers than at any previous point for England, and yes that includes his hat trick against Croatia. Johnson is playing great football right now...but take your tongue out of his arse for a bit. What are you going to say when he takes a spell off form?

Terry is still a quality centre back/sweeper, his presence in the back four is very reassuring. Jagielka is still inexperienced at the international level, and let's face it, the Swiss were absolute gash tonight.

Lampard is a puzzle...just don't play him with Gerrard, i think we all know that, at least not in the centre of the park. if Capello must Lampard and Gerrard on - put Gerrard up front behind the striker.

SWP is neither here nor there, he still can't cross a ball properly, and Bent is worse than Defoe, at least Defoe has been holding up the ball nicely.

As for Rooney - you're fucking mental Chris. We play so much better with Rooney in the side, and as gary said - was instrumental in the 4 goals against Bulgaria and scored tonight.
