For the fella who mentioned Arovane - there's actually an unreleased 14 track album of his circulating online, which was (supposedly) leaked by someone at CCO, who were set to release it in 1999 and for whatever reason, didn't. Granted, that'd make the album at least 11 years old now, still, but at least it's something else for those of us who thought Lilies paled in comparison to what came before...and this 14 track album is more along the lines of the Icol Diston days...

Great thread. I also miss Arovane and Bola. I read somewhere that Arovane decided to take a break from music making, and apparently Bola has "retired". Perhaps it is because of the downloading "industry"? In mid/late nineties they could sell 5-10.000 copies of their album, and now, when they are 15 yrs older, perhaps with a job and family, they sell almost nothing.

I was also excited to hear more from the artist from the SMAK series like Frank&Bill and Nachtsmeer, and also Intricate and a lot of the other Spezialmaterial artists.

For some reason, I have no hopes for a new Deaf Center album in the near future. Erik Skodvin is releasing a lot under his "Svarte Greiner"-alias, and is quite busy touring. The other half has just released an very good album under the name "Nest". I love Neon City and Pale Ravine, but as long as the guys are making music, I don't care what they call themselves.

I also hope for som new music from Praveen, Denzel+Huhn and Donato Wharton.

I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere else as well. I might be wrong, but I think there was some note on the Skam website. Maybe there is a comeback on it's way. He did a remix earlier this year, and apparently he has done some concerts, too.

Geinoh Yamashirogumi. Their Wikipedia article makes it sound like they're still together, but what little information I can find about them is in Japanese.

I have heard a rumour that Belong are going to be recording or releasing a new album this year. I don't know how many of you guys like October Language, but in case you do, you should know that update.

I'm still wondering where the fuck Vorpal disappeared to.

He is a full-time game tester in Montreal. He is Tamas' coworker.

Are you serious? LOL

That's awesome.

Someone force Lexaunculpt back into a studio to do a solo project, damn it.

They got signed to Kranky. Comparing Belong to Tim Hecker will never be so frequent once they're labelmates.

I used to really love German trance in the 90's. A lot of it was shite but there were some real gems from the Harthouse/Eye-Q days.

I mostly wonder what A.C. Boutsen (Cygnus X) is up to now

No shame in that stuff at all. Were you also into Noom? They had some good shit too.

Plone: There is an album floating around on the net, that wa supposed to be their second album on Warp, but was rejected. Sounds kinda different, but good. From Wikipedia: "Rob Mitchell (who had originally signed the band to Warp) was diagnosed with cancer in 2001. Rob died in the September of that year. Their second album has never been officially released but has appeared on torrent and other file sharing sites on the Internet. Billy went on to play keyboards with Broadcast (on the Ha Ha Sound tour) and is now a member of Seeland with Tim Felton (now also ex-Broadcast) and have released a single "Wander"/"Pherox" on Duophonic in 2005. Mike Johnston went on to form Mike In Mono and is also 'Clive 2' in ZX Spectrum Orchestra and a member of The Modified Toy Orchestra.

Mark is currently DJing with Matt from Pram for Silver Dollar, a reggae club in Birmingham."

So I guess that there won't be any more stuff from Plone?

Brothomstates: Lassi Nikko posts on Xltronic, and about two years ago he told the mb that he had been sick for a long time and close to dying because of complications due to diabetes. At the same time he put up two trakcs on his website called "Blitch Aug 18th" and "You and your Family". Really nice tracks with the Brothomstates sound.

He had a couple of digital releases on his own label (Jaffbox) in 2008. I think I read that he was having some mental health issues for awhile, dunno if that is true or not.
