I said the same thing. When the developer was giving out free hits and that's exactly what it was, I thought, "it's worth a few minutes of my time." Eight hours later as the sun brought morning I realized I had not moved and in a few hours I was to scurry off to work. I tried to sleep but even in my slumber I was crafting my dream land one block at a time.

yeah, i got lucky with the map

in the beginning stages of making a massive landbridge that will span my house and connect with the mouth of the waterfall. not far from that to an aqueduct

vamos, there is 'creative' and 'survival' modes. in creative you have unlimited blocks, in survival you have to mine them.

but blocks are just raw material - you still have to make glass, planks, doors, bricks etc.

the save directory is in %AppData%/Roaming/.minecraft/Saves/Save1, Save2 etc

which each contain about a fucking million directories

just finished a glass addition inside of which is my biggest mine. inside the roof is glass as well which helps me see wtf im doing.

gotta figure out some water soon cause i'm jealous of all the flowing stuff kaini's got.

thanks. i made two copies of my saves first, and then another later on in case the fire randomly escaped. basically, just make sure nothing within 4 blocks is flammable. i was a bit unsure of the height; so i put up that concrete slab and some glass for safety. inside there are just two tree blocks on top of each other above another concrete slab. magma garbage bin is highly recommended for tossing shit collected when mining.

ahh, the urge to teraform, just imagine when we can do this in real with nanomachines. redesigning landscapes will be a doddle, and the earth will seem too small. So we'll just build more of those.

My map is interesting, it has really dramatic geography - think chinese landscape combined with Pandora (yes, I have floating mountains for some weird reason) - and it's snowing all the time. Sea is frozen, which is a bummer because I wanted to try a boat. All in due time...

Well, Notch apparently is working on "biomes" to make certain areas have different conditions. So, you know, snowy areas, snow capped mountains, desert areas etc. And if I understand right you won't need to start a new world, you'll just have to travel to a new area so it loads a fresh chunk. It's the next update he's working on, I'm quite looking forward to seeing it!
