"witch house" implies a house influence which simply isn't there.

drag was the original term Salem used, and references the chopped and screwed aesthetic. cos at the end of the day, the supposed occult influence is more of an image thing, but the stuff is all heavily hip hop influenced (especially southern hip hop). so I think drag is an alright term.

but that's only if you want to even give this stuff a new name. I mean, everything interesting doesn't need its own genre. if anyone asks me what Salem is I would probably just say its like goth hip hop. that's my two cents anyway.

I'm loving the Salem album. I can't get into much else because alot of the artists push the themes quite hard, but Salem make fascinating music that doesn't seem to be following any others'.

I think there album really has a heavy metal vibe to it. Not the music style, but the production and the aesthetic give off a really Doom-y feel.

i think a better name for this genre would be "mute button"
