Inhake 2 is pretty happy, I think. And Recury, to an extent. But yeah, there's not a lot of happy ones out there.

i dont know about "happy" with any of those besides altibzitz.

a lot of ae songs have happy lines and intense percussion. they aren't usually as 1 dimensional, giving the song a wholly happy or sad feel but rather they mix up the moods in the layers. lcc for example

ae's mastery of emotional duplicity is one aspect of their music that i feel they've always had a knack for. :braindance:

I see your point. The tracks are multifaceted, and obviously people react to different tracks differently. However, I think we can try to list happy ae tracks without claiming they are entirely and superficially happy.

I've always considered Krib more melancholic than a typical Autechre track. Was just walking down the streets to it last night head down.

I can't name any happy Autechre song really, I just think they're either very neutral in mood or sad. This is a good thing for me, but each to his own I guess.

I think I consider it "happy" because of a video recording wherein one of my newborn kittens was sleeping while listening—well, I was listening, but he appeared content.

It's a combination of that and the track's playful melody that stir up ideas of childhood innocence. Anyone else get that?

Oh, and it's too short, but there's restraint for ya.

Known(1) is not a happy song.

I think it is the sound of fear, but with some level of optimism for perhaps a brighter future. [/wank]

Yeah Drane 2 is one of the happiest song of the world, but it's more of a melancholic, like Ulysse coming home after 20 years of fuckery. Just like Nine. Imo.

Goz Quarter, Lowride, Etchogon-S, Altibzz are happy too !

Slip isn't that much happy, I'd rather think about it as a funny song, but not that much happy.
