Haha, that's a great new feature! There was a third party app that did this before by trawling all the discogs data but it took forever.

Dammit, I really want to know mine, but about 10% of my record collection is in there, let alone CD's too :(

Still, that 10% is

Out of curiosity, what does your collection consist of? Approximate # of CDs/vinyl. Wondering how mine would compare, just to get an idea.

hmm...

that price is for 2600 items. a few (ca. 110) have no sales-history but as the record i paid most for is one of them, i think alltogether its around 43000$. more than 95% is vinyl...

after starting like a "normal music-consumer", buying records when they come out, i spent years collecting like a maniac, mostly out-of-print-stuff, going through 100s of 5 digit lists to find one record (or none). that might explain the relatively high pcs./$-ratio. i am kinda retired since 3 years though.

Ok thanks. My collection is about 1700-1800 CDs and only like 2 dozen vinyl, so I'm guessing I'm nowhere near that amount, half if I'm lucky. Not that I'm selling or would ever get that amount without hard work and lots of time.

i guess you know, but sometimes cds are quite collectable and pricey, old detroit-stuff, FAX, Rather Interesting etc.

i feel kinda schizophrenic about my collection. on one side im very proud of it, cause it took much work and dedication to get it, on the other side it feels weird to project feelings about music, identity or sumfin on a piece of plastic.

my attitude towards collecting got damaged right after i bought that mentioned record (which hadnt sold on discogs yet) thru ebay: http://www.discogs.com/Mononom-Untitled/release/72954

Cool feature! Apparently I lucked out getting Mask 200 for $150, since the median price is $400. I had no idea!

Eichel, why the damaged attitude? Did they lie about the condition of the item?

i'm so glad you guys brought this up, i've been meaning to put my shit up for sale for some time now..

but i'm also a bit confused, don't you have to put them all up for sale in order to enable this valuation?

Same with me. It was my pride and joy all through the 90s and most of the 00s...then I got more into digital music, worked on paying off some debt, had other priorities, so it's hardly growing. And I listen to all my music through my computer or iPod now...so the physical collection just sits there. Staring at 9 and a half boxes right now, that haven't been unpacked since my move 2 months ago.

Apparently not, because I've never put anything up for sale through discogs.

so, this feature is now removed?

i've been adding my stuff all day, and using this. i don't have a huge amount, but was still surprised at how much it was worth.

No no. Go to the "My Discogs" tab on the top right, click "collection" from the dropdown menu. Then top left viewing options click stats.

Half my collection isnt even priced cause its shitty cd's no one would want anyway.
