No no. Go to the "My Discogs" tab on the top right, click "collection" from the dropdown menu. Then top left viewing options click stats.

yeah. i got it like i said. i haven't added cds, only vinyl, otherwise i'd be here all fucking week.

indeed - i'm unloading a bunch of stuff tomorrow (to a fiiiine new independent record shop/creative centre w a couple of macs running logic and ableton and a few synths) and i'm placing my reckoning somewhere between the minimum and the median. not a chance of getting near that max figure. doing shit locally, with a shop that uses discogs as their mechanism for establishing value should get rid of some of your headaches, though. and it's run by mates who do a couple of club nights here, so a good chunk of this shit will probably be snapped up by the owners of the shop

The max function is quite a bit wrong. Musick to Play in the Dark vol 1 was supposedly sold for 125 dollars. Very, very high, even for a Coil CD. My 2cd version of U.F.Orb has also supposedly been sold for 80 dollars. But the median function works decently well.

you guys all really put your whole collection up on discogs? i feel like i'm not of the right 'brain type' to even comprehend doing that casually. The only way i can imagine doing it is if i took some adderal.

I added my collection when I didn't have too many albums and added to it as I got more.

Finally entered all my records into this; the average value of my collection is around $15,000

Stacks of my shit is signed / unique so there is no way for them to value that shit as they go by the price of the last five times the same item has sold. Still nice to have a ball-park figure as I would have had no clue if I had to pick a number from the air

It took me months to get it all on there; one shelf at a time whenever I felt like it

my only real headache with discogs selling is

1) buyers can 'buy' something and not pay and the only recourse you have is negative feedback, to my knowledge you still have to eat the discogs fee. And for an expensive record your fee might be $9, and it's not refundable by discogs (am i wrong?)

2) if you don't pay your bill on time they suspend your account, why can't they just auto bill you? also why can't you 'pay forward' for your next installment? they seem to make it unnecessarily hard to just pay them a large lump sum of your fees, they want them very regularly and not automatically.

their prices are WAY off... EUR100 for a mint first pressing of mhtrtc? get fucking real.

yeah i actually do quite well on discogs by just making my prices lowish. Sometimes ill literally be the only american selling something and i can still make a profit by dropping it $10-20 lower than the next euro/overseas shipper below me.

but im sure people do quite well be doing just the exact opposite. If you have something that's not really even that 'rare' in larger sense of things, but it's not being sold anywhere on the internet RIGHT NOW, pretty much no matter what it is you can sell for $50-$100

there will always be a rube waiting to pay for the next thing advertised as OMG SUPER RARE. but actually on the other hand, some of their prices are off at the other end of the spectrum. my first pressing hi scores with the blue paper insert, or my leila 'like weather' with the bonus 7" promo are going for a lot less than i imagined.

yet inexplicably, vinyl copies of jamie lidell's multiply seem to be going for stupid high prices.

I got £20 for my Multiply LP about a year ago, they're around the same now.

Hi Scores first press (braille sticker) NM/NM or better should fetch £30-£40 on Discogs, the Leila LP with the 7" £20 or so.

I was surprised to see Bibio's Ambivalence Avenue is now fetching £70-£80 in NM+ condition. Broadcast LPs are now fetching about the same. BOC LPs are hovering around the £60 mark.

The big moneyspinners on Discogs are rare/obscure Rave and Jungle EPs from 92-94, the ones I've put up for sale usually get bought within 24 hours, there are a lot of rave collectors on Discogs. Classic 90s indie LPs are now becoming very sought after too.

bah median of $4500, but i only have something like an eighth of my collection on discogs (!!!)

Bibio is weird, it's not like he's had a sudden explosion of popularity? Bought mine in a sale for £7 I think. People actually seem to be spending that much on it too, which is really strange
