awe, academics have already proven that google fucks with search rankings, so i wouldn't be surprised.

I know people are gonna jump all over me for saying this, but iPad plus numerous e-reader apps + vast reams of CC/PD texts will leave many people happy.

can't wait until authors start cluing in to the possibilities of self-publishing for tablets and going beyond the text. I'm not smart enough to appreciate "House of Leaves" but I'm sure that Danielewski would be able to take advantage of the multimedia capabilities.

as long as it's CC/PD (fuck it, as long as it's DRM-free), i have no problem with the medium it's presented in :)

'house of leaves' is without doubt one of my favourite books.

i had difficulty with 'only revolutions'...

but his new venture is a 27-volume series called 'the familiar', of which the first 5 volumes were recently released simultaneously. i'm not sure i'm ready to handle that shit.

still, how amazing would a proper multimedia version of HoL be?

i think the best way to determine whether rape charges are genuine or not is to hear the actual evidence in a legitimate, fair and open court... and not rush to conclusions based on the political activities of the claimant or defendent. anything else is utterly reprehensible.

The problem is that there is no evidence, as I suppose there rarely is in rape cases.

Most strangely, days after the alleged rape, the accuser brags on Twitter that she's hosting a party for Assange.

He should really just go to the trial though. He's no safer rambling around London.

I am a former British diplomat. In publishing this massive volume of correspondence, Wikileaks is not highlighting specific cases of wrongdoing but undermining the entire process of diplomacy. If you can publish US cables then you can publish UK telegrams and UN emails.

My question to you is: why should we not hold you personally responsible when next an international crisis goes unresolved because diplomats cannot function.
