Perhaps they should switch jobs. Bernanke directing the next Malick, and Malick doing the FED. I'm doubtful about Bernanke's results, but Malick doing the FED shouldn't be an issue at all. What does Bernanke do anyways?

You summed up my thoughts perfectly. I went to a cinema screening of The Thin Red Line recently and couldn't get it out of my head for weeks; it was like watching a film for the first time ever (even though I'd watched it on DVD several times before and loved it). I've still not seen Tree Of Life yet, but I'll ignore any reviews until I've seen it myself.

p.s. obviously a tongue in cheek post but the negative reviews of this film are some of the most convoluted, emotional, obscure and often ridiculous i've ever seen for any movie.* so if your "review" here is in any way sincere i'd love for you to take some time to flush out these ideas. in turn i promise to be less of a brat/

*recently read TWO reviews (one in the TLS, one in the guardian) claiming that because commercials use classical music and beautiful images to sell things, the tree of life is basically a commercial (the guardian stating it's a commercial "for life" omlol). no lol

in the LRB, michael wood (i've read (boring) books of his published by oxford university) claimed the dinosaurs were "oversized scaly ostrich(es)." his review is adequately summarized by this priceless gem of perspicacity:
