I also have studied at Goldsmiths and live in the area... There is a high proportion of dickheads, but thats university for you...

I'm personally not really looking forward to the album so much, I like his use of vocals when they are part of the mix more, not sure how I feel with them so forward, it's a subjective thing however..

His 12"s last year and 2009 were fantastic though, 'Bells Sketch' especially... found them really exciting, like dilla and burial meeting head on or something...

anyone loving I Mind?

love the groove and the way he instrumentalizes his voice

does the backing vocal say "pussy" or am I imagining things?

I recently got the deluxe version of this album with the enough thunder ep as a bonus disc. it's good stuff, but I hope he still takes the time to make and release stuff closer to the cmyk ep.

I'm getting major flashbacks / lols from this thread this is the worst album of 2011 / ultimate twink music

no youtube videos in the signature, lolz

much love,

squee

I still more or less enjoy this album. It gets sorta tedious about halfway through once he runs out of actual melodic ideas and different "soulful" white dude voice tricks though.

I enjoy this not as dubstep but as a very 21st century approach to the singer/songwriter thang. If I tried to consider it dance music, I probably wouldn't enjoy very much.

Anyone heard the re-release of this with an additional disc?

For the record I enjoyed the album, especially some of the tracks, but it didn't blow me away.

I like this album, and I prefer it to his more dance-focused EPs. Though it does kind of lose steam halfway through, as Ascdi observed. The lo-fi character was annoying initially, but had become pretty endearing. It's an interesting contrast to the hi-tech sound of most contemporary club and electronic music.

This track is where it's at. The harmony is particularly amazing. I don't know too many acts today in electronic music who could bust out these kinds of chord changes or such a density of counterpoint.

I am purposely not listening to it because it will bring on another week or month of a General MIDI carousel in my mind
