you know, putting effort into music actually is half of what makes music the experience of a lifetime. the inherent human... 'greatness' of the achievement of the mind behind it. this is a bunch of Garageband turd drops[more or less quite scientifically] shat together using ES2 and iDrum or techno presets then looped. On 4AD? what is this, some kind of social experiment?

whereas VHS head, forward thinking albeit "glitchy" [aka: not trendy] album is shat off like a beacon in the turd ocean, given nary a review by any well known corporate critical body

by the way this Dedication album isn't half bad!

If it's that easy to make then I'll expect your album of equal quality on my desk tomorrow morning

yeah if i was looking for fast break edits and months spent tweaking i might be disappointed but i just clicked play and sat back and enjoyed. sorry about that.

it's not very layered, but the tunes are good. also, the short tracks help keep the album from getting boring.

OK, I'm pulling back before I regret my personality too much. I do think that my potentially irritating remarks have some truth to them. There's a lot of hype in this world, and it can be far more annoying and destructive than my comments here.

anybody read the new Zomby interview in the Wire? i still enjoy some of his music, but talk about a huge turn off.

I enjoy this album. I might even suggest that it is a GOOD album

It's not the best thing since sliced bread but still enjoying it very much.

And yes Mr Awepittance I have heard he comes across as a bit of a tosser in interviews.

I LOLed! Joking aside, it's just an album mate, some people will enjoy it and some won't. Sometimes super mega produced things can be a turn-off, it's not always about the Amon Tobin or Eskmo.

Yeah, I mean he was a goof as always but I thought the author, Lisa Blanning came off worse. Just fawning over him and coming out with lines like "It could be anyone, but it sounds like no one else."

At least I got a good laugh out of all those photos of him posing with his spliff in his designer gear.

It just strikes me as far better than Burial in a simple poppy kind of way, but then again I haven't really heard it all either. That is the best part here though probably it 's pop sensibility.

Guy is arrogant as hell and even if the brand is cool the music is consistently far less interesting than the idea of Zomby

cant help but agree, the way the wire talks about stuff sometimes is very gag worthy especially when they fawn over the 'new generation' of producers prefer making music on laptop speakers and ear bud headphones.

i'm surprised also he doesnt get called out more often for this

the concept is identical too, the results not so much. Ludd says that Zomby's take is much more authentic rivialist hardcore music. Maybe he's right, i just think that it's a pretty blatant ripoff of the Dutch musician Bongra.

all i know is that it must be really surreal to be suffering from the level of cognitive dissonance and feedback loop hypery that 95% of music journalists suffer from

disregard interviews.

yeah i'm also suprised that his "where were u..." is that little famous... cause as I said earlier in this thread, that's an album where his unfinished sound really works out. I love it.

I haven't read it all yet—barely started the Daphne Oram article. But yeah, seeing all of these shots of him with hiked up sweatpants, gold chains and gucci bags really makes him look like kind of a posh twat. Is that what you UK watmmers would say? Posh twat? Posh twat.
