the only Star Trek film I've seen is the one with the whales and it was when it was on tv in 90s and I think in hindsight it shaped my affinity for new age-y shit from that era

That's the best Star Trek movie besides Galaxy Quest. I even like it more than Wrath of Khan, which sags in the middle.
