Seems like Warp could have made a little more effort with this, and put We R Are Why, SplitRmx and the rest of the Basscad EP on there. I'll still be pre-ordering this when I've the cash to spare though, in fact I won't rest properly until I have.

I hadn't though about it but good point - those limited vinyls should be on there. Maybe they're saving them for a similar rarities / exclusives / remixes compilation (one can only hope).

but Cavity Job is already rare, and isn't even Warp material

Which makes less sense to me.

EDIT: the inclusion of Cavity Job and not those others, I mean.

also, it would seem that the intro samples at the beginning of the Cavity Job tracks weren't cleared for the initial release, hence they're not on this compilation

Oh, yeah. Mind you, they were pretty embarrassing.

i dunno...the tracks where a product of their time. i quite like them. as someone who owns the vinyl, it's just disappointing that the intro samples have been omitted

Yeah, those samples were a fucking inauspicious debut. But sort of amusing for that very reason.

A far cry from electronic music made by lonely robots from the future.

Their omission also plays havoc with my OCD and has put me off ordering this after all.

oh for me it was the heresy of splitting up EP7 across two CDs even though EP7 is itself split up on the vinyl version. i want my split to be done 4 times, not just once.

Edited by oscillik

I would accept a 2 CD version of EP7, replicating the original vinyl release. But then there'd have to be quite a few 2 track CDs as well to make this consistent. Now I'm giving myself a migraine.

a 2 Cd version wouldn't work though, because with the vinyl version there are 4 sides, which means you gotta break up the playback four times.

with a 2Cd version, you only have to change the cd twice.

i know you could probably pause the tracks at the right points, but that's too much hassle.

There's also the question of reproducing the dropping of the stylus onto the run-in groove...

Fuck this new-fangled CD malarkey, it'll never catch on.

That's the most stupid comment I have ever read on the interweb.

lol

i can't believe how swiftly cum spurts out of these guy's dicks at the mere mention of a new radiohead album (comes with 699 pieces of garbage OMG!!!!) and as soon as an elegant collection of ae's eps (which for many people will be the first time to hear those earliest releases) they push their black rim glasses up their noses and mutter cynical bullshit.

this is watmm you fucking n00bs. go wait by the mailbox for your "newspap" album.

you two are fucking retarded. i havent heard the new radiohead yet so of course im excited. ive lived with these eps for a long time. some from probably before you were wiping your own asses. if you haven't heard these by now you should check yourself with the noobs shit.

I was just curious why they were only releasing some of their ep's together so randomly. it's not that big a deal. fucking internet.

in all seriousness, i know someone who would genuinely benefit from this set, as she's recently gotten into autechre. admittedly it is a pretty rare case though

I suppose not everyone sprang from the womb with the complete Autechre back catalogue in their possession. If I was only just getting into them, I think I'd have jizzed my kecks when this was announced.

I for one am excited every time I get the chance to buy an elegant product, no matter what it is.

I've just preordered it anyway for this reason, in spite of my better judgement and having to use my credit card.

Out of stock already? And it's only been a few hours.

edit: while I'm here I'd like to remind everyone that the Basscadet ep is the worst thing ever

Edited by Alfred P McLovely III

I pre-ordered the CDs about 10 minutes ago. Which was a while after someone in the other thread posted that it was out of stock as well.

Edited by Caretstik

To be fair, BCDTMX and Basscadubmx are great. The other three... I don't even remember.

I'm actually a little disappointed now..

1. That it's already sold out.

2. That We R Are Why isn't included...

For shame.
